I agree SRV should be inducted but I think BJ should be inducted before the likes of others on this list such as Ratt, Queensr˙che and Europe.

how many normally get inducted each year?
WAPP83 was realeased in 1983, X-mas in the stars 1982 (maybe 81?, need to dig out the vinyl), wasn't the first single She Don't Know Me released in late 83, that was the first BON JOVI release.
THere are some good names on the list for that year but plenty of one hit wonders as well.

It's not the same every year but normally about 5 or 6 a year.

Nope.
Not at ALL in fact.
Van Halen is in, The Ramones are in, Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers are in, the list goes on and on.
What he hall does do is elect only the members who made "great contributions to the band's legacy."
For example, David Lee Roth and Sammy Hagar are both in for Van Halen, but Gary Cherone is not.

First off, "Future Rock Hall" is not an official site, and they are often biased voters there.
Second, the induction itself is in 2009, so I believe the inductees announced in September are the class of '09, which is why Bon Jovi are eligible.

Pattie Smith
John Mellencamp
Madonna (I wouldn't call her music Rock n Roll)
Aerosmith
