bon jovi are something of a 'snigger' band in the industry as well as with the public-nobody has really taken them seriously since they kicked off....including a lot of other artists.....most people only seem to comment on their 'work rate' and not much else......back to the original question i think the band will quit when it stops becoming profitable rather than when it stops becoming fun

I've seen lots of programs about Bon Jovi, with Bon Jovi and that mentioned Bon Jovi. And I don't see things the way some of you (always the same people) see them. Yes, there were some negative comments. And there were lots of positive Bon Jovi mentions too, e.g Dave Matthews, Elton John, Aerosmith.

Any artist out there who has some kind of impact on our culture will get both positive and negative comments. If they get no negative remarks, they don't do their job properly.

fair point santa fe....but they aren't the darlings of the industry who everybody loves and respects and they certainly aren't fashionable....how many bands list bon jovi as one of their favourites? not many because it just isn't, and never has been, cool to like them

Well, maybe in England. Assholes like Mick Wall. As far as I'm concerned most of them pursue their own agendas which have nothing to do with music.

It's all politics. Let's return to this topic in 5 years. IMO things are gonna change dramaticly for Bon Jovi.

In the 90s Bon Jovi were in "disgrace". No one is gonna list this kind of band as an influence, or their favorite. Everybody wants to look cool, have a career and sell records. Now they became a proven band. Before they weren't. Hence, all those Grammy nominations for the things that are not even Bon Jovi's best. Things are gonna change for Bon Jovi a lot now. Bands like The Calling already list Bon Jovi as their influence.

Um... name some documentaries on the band not overseen by them. I'm trying to think of some and the closest thing I can come up reviewing my video collection with in my sorry memory is that thing that aired in the UK a few years ago where cousin Tony's parents were speaking. I found that whole segment to be laughable.

that's one of them yes if we're on the same wavelength

Channel 4 : Top 10 Stadium Rock

they also interviewed Dee Snider (who i hate and is a complete hypocrite in what he says)... also listen to rock radio - i've often heard comments such as:

"That was BJ there. I don't know what they;ve been doing recently with their albums but that was classic Bon Jovi"

So, that's two examples. You made it sound like there were lots.
