Default Will there be an archive series?

Now that he is finally allowing
current live recordings, will there
be concert archive shows ala Springsteen?
Why not

No one knows but he hasn't mentioned doing it. Due to Richie....doubt it.

I think you are correct - they would both have to give permission and I don't see them working together right now. There are some great shows back there that would warrant a re editing and a release. Too bad

That's a tough call... It's possible... Richie is a factor but I don't think it's realistic to vault everything Richie had his hands in from the past 30 years either... He was too involved as a writer, publisher, musician, and partner... I don't think Richie would stop anything either...

Jon, Obie, and the rest of the Bon Jovi camp could make the decisions on what shows to release if they really wanted to... I'm sure Alec would get a royalty too... or just skip the 80s and early 90s and go right to the TDs tour....

If Sons Of Beaches happened, I can't see any reason why we couldn't get a show or two...

Bruce played with a ton of musicians so I can't see why Jon couldn't pull it off...

It's a slim demographic of the fan base that wants this. Of that demographic, due to file sharing and show trading, that pie gets even slimmer. It seems like an awful lot of work for very little payoff. I can see their side and understand why it's probably a waste of time.

Why is it so hard to do? they just go back remix
a few shows, and make them available for download
like the Springsteen camp does, they could hook up
with Nugs, let's be honest, Jon is one of the few great live
acts who has never put out a complete live show until
this tour, I'm sure there are enough fans who buy each
show they release from the different tours

Not so sure about that. Yes we all file share and trade shows BUT - we don't have SBD recordings of our favorite shows. In some cases we have decent recordings but not clean SBD ones.

The Springsteen community shares and records far more than this community does. But even they are delighted to get a great copy of a rare old show. And it must be profitable enough - they have continued with their program for almost 3 years now. I figured that they would quit if not enough people wanted the stuff.

I truly hope so.

But what happened with "massive 30 years anniversary campaign" isnt really a great sign:

"they've promised to release more 30th anniversary material [besides New Jersey Deluxe]this year [2014], including new collections of studio and live recordings.""
http://www.rollingstone.com/music/ne...issue-20140520

And they didnt really DIG the archives for New Jersey Deluxe. Dont get me wrong, its nice to get Access & demos, but they've all been around...

We need Hammersmith 1990, Milton Keynes and/or Rotterdam 1989, some neat shows from 1984-1987 etc.
