I don't see them having another hit, not in the distant future, anyway.
I think it's time for them to pack it in and say goodbye while they are on somewhat of a high.
You don't want to retire when your last album flopped. Oh wait...

I can see them still having songs that peak reasonably well on the charts, but not a mega hit like Prayer or Always. This is a combination of trends in popular music, falling sales, outdated marketing strategies, and other factors too.

Bon Jovi dont need massive hits anymore. Been there done that and they have the t-shirt.

someone name me the rolling stones, U2s, Guns N Roses, Metallicas, motley Crues and Iron Maidens last MASSIVE hit?

I dont think massive hits exist anymore.

What's WWBTF?

I can't see it happening to be honest. I'm hoping the new tracks included on the GH are a cut above but I'm not holding my breath. They seem tired, the fans are tired... I think they've been doing their best to keep up with the changing industry but it's taken it's toll on them in many ways. The ironic thing is, if they'd offered up something in the vein of a natural progression on 'These Days' all those years ago when 'Crush' came out, they might actually be more popular than they are now.

They jumped on the IML bandwagon at a time when 'one-hit-wonders' were (and still are) par for the course so it's no wonder they've struggled to retain casual listeners' interest over the last decade. They came back, and they lost it again almost as quickly.

Live, they have rarely faltered though and that's what has kept them going. It's safer playing all of your big hits from yesteryear than writing new songs - that's why TC songs are being dropped left, right and centre from the setlists at the moment. They seem to have no faith in the music they create any more.

Who Says You Can't Go Home charted fairly well, and was a big hit in the country universe. I think they will have another song with the same type of popularity, not a huge #1 hit, but maybe a hit that charts higher on the chart and lingers around for a while. Something you might actually hear on the radio frequently. And as was mentioned before, look at Aerosmith. Their biggest hit was in 1998, and they're heyday was in the 80's. But that's only 10 years later, so maybe BJ is past that.

But never like Prayer.

It needs to be a combination of a great song plus good promotion and backing from the radio stations and music channels, and so a good and memorable video. There is no reason why they couldnt have a decent song which gets played everywhere, and the video is all over the place. Chart position is pretty much secondary nowadays but mainly it needs to be in the public awareness and memorable. It can still be done, but everything needs to be right like with Always & IML.

Desmond Child has always been around in all the ablums out (I think) but it doesn't guaranty a hit ... DC does mediocre material too he is not the hit God he used to be (just like the guys) imo

Like Becky said Never say Never but it's not gonna be easy task for them they will have to sound good and also original (not a IML sequel) and they will have to *NOT program* a hit to have one imo
