Default Personal meaning...

Been kinda lurking on the boards for awhile now...

I think my biggest reason for being a Bon Jovi fan is due to the personal depth some of the songs have to me. Many songs mean something special to me and those closest to me.

Are there any songs that mean something special to you? Any that evoke particular memories, good or bad?

Aloha !

Yes. If I Was Your Mother.

When I had a relationship for a few weeks with this georgious chick a few years ago, she later on told me she was a bisexual person, and that she found this other girl she really digged. She wanted to have a sex relationship with that girl but didn't want me to join. It made me sad, because I knew I could never be a girl, but if I would try to be her mother maybe I could save my relationship by teaching her what's right.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

It ain't no fun lying down to sleep
And there ain't no secrets left for me to keep
I wish the stars up in the sky would all just call in sick
And the clouds would take the moon out on some one-way trip

I drove all night down streets that wouldn't bend
But somehow they drove me back here once again
To the place I lost at love, and the place I lost my soul
I wish I'd just burn down this place that we called home
It would all have been so easy
If you'd only made me cry
And told me how you're leaving me
To some organ grinder's lullaby

It's hard, so hard - It's tearing out my heart
It's hard letting you go

Now the sky, it shines a different kind of blue
And the neighbor's dog don't bark like he used to
Well, me, these days
I just miss you - It's the nights that I go insane
Unless you're coming back
For me, that's one thing I know that won't change

It's hard, so hard - It's tearing out my heart
It's hard letting you go

Now sone tarot card shark said I'll draw you a heart
And we'll find you somebody else new
But I've made my last trip to those carnival lips
When I bet all that I had on you

It's hard, it's hard, it's hard, so hard
It's hard letting you go
It's hard, so hard - It's tearing out my heart
But it's hard letting you go

For 50 million hands upraised and open toward the sky

My Guitar Lies Bleeding In My Arms, A Little Bit Of Soul, Something To Believe in and Blood On Blood are practically the soundtrack to my life.

Misunderstood describes me pretty well. It's a little too in the pop genre I suppose, but I really like the lyrics. If That's What It Takes is also a song that I can relate to, becuase a couple of years ago I woulda done anything for the girl I wanted to be with. I also think Learning How To Fall by JBJ has a lot to do with me aswell. I've often tried run before I can walk, or "walk before I crawled" if ya know what I mean. Kinda cheesy I suppose, but true in my case.

I'll never give up the fight,
I'll go the Distance.

That describes me

I remember when my first dog died. It seemed like every sad Bon Jovi song reminded me of him. I guess it was because I bought Crush, Cross Road, and Slippery When Wet the day before he had to go to the hospital. I got New Jersey hours before he died. For quite some time, I didn't listen to Bon Jovi. Then I made up my mind that I would just listen to one song and see if it made me feel better. That song was Prayer '94.

"The Radio Saved My Life Tonight". I think that I can't live without it, dunno why but since the first day I heard it became that "sad song that the DJ played" for me

Interesting answers... I'm glad to see I'm not alone with this.
As for the song that relates to me, well, like I said, there's a few.

It's My Life really describes me and my closest friends as we are all sort of misfits in out own right.

Livin' on a Prayer always reminds me of my days on the track team and the great friendships I had on the team. We used to sing this song before meets to sort of get pumped up.

In These Arms has meaning just to myself. It always reminds me of my own desperation for the great girl that I lost and would do anything to have her back.

But if I were to choose just one Bon Jovi song that was important to me, it would certainly be Always. Due to my own mistakes, I lost the only girl I ever truly had feelings for, whom I had always listened to Bon Jovi with. She moved on but I never did. I was going to ask her to my senior Christmas dance but she already had a date, but she promised to save me a dance. That night was the first time I ever saw her so close to another guy since we had split apart, and it killed me. When it came time for the dance she saved me, it was Always, which fit the moment so perfectly it was as if it were a movie.
