Default "Wonderful tonight" or "You had me from hello

hi fans, I dont know if you ever heard the song WONDERFUL TONIGHT from ERIC CLAPTON....."you had me from hello" lyrics is so similar to that song, i guess jon wrote this song when he was listening to wonderful tonight! here is the lyrics of wonderful tonight, so what do ya think?

WONDERFUL TONIGHT - ERIC CLAPTON

It's late in the evening
She's wondering what clothes to wear
She puts on her make up
And brushes her long blonde hair
And then she asks me
Do I look alright
And I say yes, you look wonderful tonight

We go a party
And everyone turns to see
This beautiful lady
That's walking around with me
And then she asks me
Do you feel alright
And I say yes, I feel wonderful tonight

I feel wonderful
Because I see the love light in your eyes
And the wonder of it all
Is that you just don't realize
How much I love you

It's time to go home now
And I've got an aching head
So I give her the car keys
She helps me to bed
And then I tell her
As I turn out the light
I say my darling, you were wonderful tonight
Oh my darling, you were wonderful tonight

so i send the lyrics of YOU HAD ME FROM HELLO for those who dont have it:

Album: Bounce
Track: YOU HAD ME FROM HELLO

At the mirror you fix your hair and put your makeup on
You're insecure about what clothes to wear
I can't see nothing wrong
To me you look so beautiful when you can't make up your mind
It's half past eight, it's getting late
It's OK, take your time
Standing here my hands in my pockets
Like I have a thousand times
Thinking back it took one breath
One word to change my life
Chorus: The first time I saw you it felt like coming home
If I never told you I just want you to know
You had me from hello
When we walk into a crowded room it's like we're all alone
Everybody tries to kidnap your attention
You just smile and steal the show
You come to me and take my hand
We start dancin' slow
You put your lips up to my ear and whisper way down low
Chorus: From the first time I saw you it felt like coming home
If I never told you I just want you to know
You had me from hello
And when you're laying down beside me
I feel your heartbeat to remind me...
Chorus: The first time I saw you it felt like coming home
If I never told you I just want you to know
You had me from hello
From hello
From hello

Wonderful Tonight is a good track by Eric Clapton, but I haven't heard Bounce yet so I won't be able to compare them, but the lyrics do tell a similar story though.

hey rob, i didn't mean that the songs is similar, i said it about the lyrics, as you see there are 3parts in both, first a beautiful lady is making up for a party near jon and eric!!! then they went to a party and dance together, then both back home and sleep!!!! they are so similar even in each line!!!!

Well yeah you're definately right. I heard that Richie's idol was Eric Clapton, and you can hear it in some of his music on Stranger and US. Maybe it was Richie that did most of the writing of these lyrics.
