Not as a permanent solution, but I'd love to have Richie, David, Tico and Hugh playing one show with Olli from Bounce. No standard set, no focus on the hits. Just rip through all the songs Jon doesn't care about anymore out hasn't been able to pull off live. One show with a lot of nostalgia songs.
Otherwise I'm happy to stick with Bounce.

Thumbs up

It would be great if they found the right singer, I'd also want to hear Richie and Dave sing some stuff (In These Arms, I'll Be There For You, for example), but it shouldn't be called Bon Jovi.

In the same way that, in my opinion, the current line up should not be called Bon Jovi. For me the band isn't the band without Jon AND Richie, they are the heart and soul of Bon Jovi the band. I know others feel differnetly, and that's fine, I'm not looking for an argument. That's just how I feel about it.

I would prefer seeing/having and listening to the current Bon Jovi with Jon himself.

If they changed Jon with someone else i would only watch and listen to songs of Bon Jovi when Jon was there.
I prefer having Always as horrible as 2017 than having a cover band.

I don't really care about Richie being there or not though.

Journey was still called Journey eventhough that they replaced their lead vocalist a couple of times. They didn't rename their band despite of the fact that Perry fired Valory and Smith. Though both of them return after some time. What I mean is that some of the bands already came across to a situation like this. Did they change their band name? No. It's Marketing Strategy man.

Bon Jovi are NAMED after the lead singer. Most people think Jon's a solo artist. He co-writes everything (yeah, bar She Don't Know Me). He's front and center of the attention. Journey were originally Neal Schon's band.

Look at Dokken or Van Halen. I don't see these bands changing the namesake members anytime soon, either.

Not even if they were playing in the cow pasture behind my house if Richie’s there. If it was the current band lineup, I’d walk to the pasture, sure.

Before you ask why... I respect all the members of the current lineup. That’s the difference.

So your logic is that if that lineup above should not be called Bon Jovi if they'll find a new and capable vocalist? Just because they replace Jon? Sounds logical to me. I would also consider it as a cover band too but with RS on it? It's still a Bon Jovi show for me.

Yes, because they replace the guy the band is named after and who was behind every decision and move they ever made. It's not Bon Jovi without Jon. Like you said, it's a cover band; one I'd probably check out, but it's not Bon Jovi.

Does that include Bobby and that other guitar player who's no longer there as well?

Exactly this. They'd have to have a different name and create new music that's uniquely theirs. Then I'd certainly check them out. Otherwise, no.
