Wow. Jon and Axl have a bitter rivalry!

"The New York Post is reporting that Jon Bon Jovi is disgusted rock rival Axl Rose receives more media attention than he does, because the elusive GUNS N' ROSES frontman "hasn't made a record in 13 years." Jon can't seem to get over the fact that the press will always be more fascinated with the bad-boy legacy of GNR than they are with the comparatively bland BON JOVI, according to the Post. He fumes, "You know what pisses me off? I was reading this British rock magazine this month and there was a story about Axl Rose and the $13 million GUNS N' ROSES record that was never made. That mother****er hasn't made a record in 13 years and he gets all that attention. You know what I've done in 13 years? A lot. But they have continued to write about the freak show aspect of him. Because he's a recluse. That makes him interesting, right?"

I guess those rivalries still exist. I only recently started listening to GNR but that's pretty bitter! I like Guns but only their famous stuff. The little known songs I really don't like. But Bon Jovi on the other hand, a lot of the b-sides are better than the released stuff!

As the article indicates, around this time Axle Rose was getting alot of attention for god knows what. He's produced no new music for 15 years and yet he gets alot of hype.
Jon was rightly annoyed.
To say they have a bitter rivalry is massively overstating things!

The comments on that page make me chuckle.

They completely miss the argument that Jon should receive more attention as BJ has put out music, while Axl has just been weird for 15 years. All the comments basically say: "Jon Bon JOvi can sux my d1ck! AXL!!!!!"

I'm reading the Slash autobiography at the moment, and it's clear that Axl is an absolute fruit cake.

He punched a guy in a bar because he said he resembled JBJ!

he got arrested I believe! yeah he puched some one for calling him "a BJ lookalike".

Well, it's usually a pretty good clue that something isn't right when a guys own exbandmates won't even walk into a room where he is or attend an event if it's rumored he's supposed to be there.

I'm sure if BJ disappeared for 15 years, they'd get alot of attention when they come back into the world again.

The rivalry is hilarious, Axl's got a rivalry against everyone, JBJ, Kurt Cobain, Iron Maiden, etc etc.

But Axl got the attention without bringing out any new music!
I think if BJ disappeared for 15 years and made a come-back they wouldn't have a chance, because they have never been a band that have ever aired their shit in public.
