Default Yeah, so I listened to Shes a Mystery today...

First time in a good few years or so too, and actually enjoyed it! I think i can appreciate it alot more now, the lyrics and the slide guitar etc - it really is a good song. I guess back in 2000, i was a mere 16 yr old (jesus, that long ago eh?) and now i look for a bit more from songs rather than the same old tried and tested formula we all know (and love).
I listened to Crush yesterday and ended up skipping IML, Just Older, Crash, OWN etc and going for Mystery tain and Shes a mystery instead. Now i do like my 'rock' music, but the other stuff keeps things interesting - thats why i think i may enjoy this upcoming album. Same with other songs, i scoffed at the likes of Joey, right side of wrong and Wildflower when i heard them but now i appreciate them more.

Anyone else found this?

lol i saw who had replied to this thread and immediately knew the response in advance. Like I said i once was the same way. I had a strict diet of Iron Maiden, Def leppard, GNR, bon Jovi, Aerosmith, metallica etc etc right up till i was about 18/19, and if back then someone had told me id like half the stuff that i do now i would have laughed in their face.

I think i could hazard a guess and say you may dislike the upcoming 'country' album...?

I actually LOVED Mystery Train and Wildflower the first time I heard them. It did take a little for She's A Mystery to grow on me but now I really do like it.

I've always said that She's a mystery is a nice song (not great), but in the place it is, on the album it's one it ruins it pace completely

I've always loved Mystery Train. Wildflower has been a grower. I still don't think it's all that great, but it seems to get better everytime I listen to it (which isn't very often). She's A Mystery on the other hand is my least fave Jovi song, and I don't think I'll ever come to like it much.

THANK YOU. Read my mind completely. I listen to a song like "Open all Night" and think "Wow, it's beautiful" but on Bounce, it just kills the album.

Somewhere along the line, Bon Jovi switched for me. It became all about these nice songs, Mystery Train, Joey, etc. Those songs mean a lot more to me and seem to have more replay value than the rock songs and that kind of surprised me, that Bon Jovi doesn't equal the big rock songs to me anymore. I almost prefer the storytelling stuff because it's a hell of a lot more original, IMHO, to "living my life" X 1 billion

Ah gee - you guys are all growing up. It brings a tear to my eye LOL.

I always loved Joey but Wildflower never did a thing for me and still doesn't. I also am (still) mostly a rock listener but I love the quiet acoustic stuff that Jon and Richie have done. I have come to love Destination Anywhere for the same reason. I guess it's called broadening your horizons - even at my age

I agree. There is at least one song on Crush that is far, far worse than She's a Mystery..
