Default You Never Really Know

Hello everyone.
I recently listened to this song, which I understand is a soundtrack. From what I could verify, the release date is 1992, but my question is whether this song could have been recorded during the times of "Stranger In This Town".
Thanks

I discovered the song recently as well so I'm just talking in the wind here, but to me it seems more likely to be written for the movie itself due to the vast difference between the Stranger songs and You Never Really Know.

The track is beautiful, but I'm not very fond of the 'movie'. Lol.

The shooting time was appx mid 1990. In the other hand the OST includes 'Rest In Peace'

The short answer to your question is "No." and the long one will sound like this:

"You Never Really Know" is not a Richie's song. It's a song written by George S. Clinton and the song has been recorded later than SITT. Clinton and Joel Iwataki are the producers of You Never Really Know.

Richie performed on the song, so his song Rest in Peace could find it's place on the Red Shoe Diaries album as well.

On the bass is none other than the jazz guru Dr. Simeon Pillich and behind the drums is Danny Yamamoto.
