Fact is, I didn't have any VHS either - I didn't even have a VCR - nor did I have a color TV (we had one as a household - black and white). Yet, I was a massive The Police fan and had to get my 'fix' via my older friends and brother in law....

I can't speak for her, but I THINK she meant you just have to learn to take the punches around here and not take any of it too seriously.

I think it's pretty awesome that a 13 year old is discovering the band. To put it in perspective, you weren't even born when some of us were waiting out that first "hiatus." Wow--and yet, here you are. It's a great testiment to the longevity and cross-generational appeal of the band.

No-one picked on you, they were simply curious, perhaps even stupified, how someone could not have seen such a popular concert, or how/why they'd feel others should be proud of someone getting a DVD.

And perhaps if you read what spunkywho said and understood it a little better you'd find that she wasn't defending people picking on others, but implying that they are pathetic for picking on easy targets.

If you wanted to be taken seriously you could have simply posted to say how you got the DVD and how much you liked it, perhaps given details more on what you liked...and perhaps it was just me, but I didn't see any humour in the "you should be proud of me" part, I didn't even see it as being intended as sarcastic, it seemed like you were being quite serious about it.
