OK.. I don't know about complaining.. I think it has nothing to do with the age.
But there are some younger fans (girls mostly) who piss me off sometimes. They fall only for the looks, don't give a damn about music, they say "Oh... I'm such a big fan of his.. I love him so much.. I've seen him live in..." and I'm like.. whatever.. just get outta my face. I know people can do and think whatever they want but that really annoys me.. Bon Jovi is a band.. Like it's not enough that some non-fans say HE.. That's what I don't like about some younger fans.. Or when they scream on the show like it's a boy band on stage or something..

Like what? Just curious.
You know that fiasco with the designer of his baby clothes and all that crap that was said. It's old news that should not be dragged up but the articles that followed protrayed Tico as being shallow and up himself. Two pet hates of mine. Then there's the flip side to all that in how much of it is true?

I'm 20 years old and I've been a fan since I was five. I own every single album they have released and haven't been dissapointed yet. (Well, except for the live album). I saw my 1st show in 2000 and have seen them 6 times since then. I consider myself a big fan of the band and can sometimes probably be accused of being a "blind follower" The one thing that bothers me is the younger people at the shows that only get out of their seats for IML. What the hell are they doing at the show? How about the people that SIT DOWN at a show then complain about people blocking their view?

I remember a few months ago, LetItRock made a good point that I do agree with, that everyone has different ways of enjoying a show, but I once had a lady yell at me and telling me to sit down because I was blocking her view. That's just disgusting.

Then you have the people that pay big bucks to see them on the Bounce Tour then couldn't sing a song off the album to save their life. I just don't get that. to stand for "Life" and sit for Undivided or The Distance astounds me.

Now it's my turn(curious how many people waited for a post from me ):
Well complaining about Bj, I think it's not about being young or being old. it's about WHAT ACTUALLY DO WE WANT BJ TO BE?????
I see two groups: On the one hand those who want a slick edge-less tiny wannabe-Rock band(Joey? ) which records fits beside their Britney Spears(no joke, i saw "baby one more time" beside "Bounce" on an amazon wishlist), Coldplay, Shania Twain and similar stuff.
And there are the other group who wants BJ to be a hard rock band which records fit beside their Skid Row, cinderella, OZZy, Manowar and similar stuff.
And I guess the actual problem is that Bj are in the middle right now. 1/2 of Bounce(Joey,Misunderstood,AALY,Right side of wrong,YHMFH,OAN) is for the first group, the other 1/2(Undivided,Everyday,The Distance,Hook me up,Love me back to life,Bounce) is supposed to be for the second group.
To be honest I see myself in the second group and I can tell you I'm really angry about the current situation. I'm not really in anger with the band, more with the fans,or so-called fans. A nice sentence says: Every band has the fans it deserves. But in case of Bj this is really untrue. They deserve better fans then they have. I mean look at an avarage Bj crowd on this tour! What do you see? I see a boygroup crowd! "mainstream-proofed"-poeple , looking for "fun-rock"( FOR GOD'S SAKE). Most of them, sorry but that's a fact, females, dressed like bitches because "maybe HE could see me" . Those people who come to a BJ show these days don't really care what happens on stage or which song is played(a laola(I hope everybody knows what this is ) went through the stadium in Munich during "Something to believe in" ).
All they wanna see is Jon,esspacially his ass(or how do you explain that the biggest reaction from the crowd at a BJ show comes when you see Jon shaking his ass on the screen??). Go to Bj.com and watch BjTV from the OWN-tour: There is one episode: two girls have been asked "Why are you going to a BJ show" answer: "He's so gorgeous!" and after those two get two on-stage tix they screamed higher than any human being before and then wallowed on the ground like pigs...........I don't know what to say about this. And there are thousends of them at a BJ show. And I know one thing for sure: I don't want to have anything in common with those kind of people. At the Munich show this year I felt like "I should be anywhere in this town but in this stadium!!!"
But Bj are serving this kind of fans with shallow tunes like Misunderstood etc. And thats why so many people say Bj have become a pop band.
Many of you wondered why the negative posts have increased in the past, well because today there is actually more to complain about:
-those kind of "fans" I described above
-the music which serves thoes fans(If you think about:Why do all those "un-real-fans" who complain so much like the old stuff more than the new?because there is no "Open all night" on 7800, there is no "Misunderstood on NJ, there is no "Joey" on KTF)
-this lazy tours(not about the performances, but about the numbers of countries they visit,or better, they haven't visit)

I think this 3 things are the main reason why there is so much negativity. And it's good that there is this negativity because it shows that there still people alive out there who aren't completely blind.

And I have to say that some posts in this thread are so ridiculous:
"if you don't like the new stuff why are you still here?"
Well i love "bon Jovi", "7800 Fahrenheit", "slippery when wet", "New Jersey", "Keep the Faith", "Crossroad", "these Days".
1,2,3,4,5,6,7 records, 70% of the bands catalogue. Yes it's true I don't have the right to be at a BJ fan-board.

Yes I did complain a lot about Bounce but i think it's my ****in right to do because "Joey","misunderstood", YHMFH and OAN are 4 of the worst songs on this planet. It's all in the bands hand. if the setlist of Bounce would have been for example:
1.Undivided
2.Everyday
3.The distance
4.Alive
5.Still standing
6.Another reason to believe
7.hook me up
8. Bounce
9. Love me back to life
10. No regrets
you wouldn't have heard any negative comment from me.

You got plenty of good points there, Stranger, but there's just one thing I'm wondering about. If these so-called fans don't listen for the music and only like Bon Jovi for Jon's looks, why would Bon Jovi write songs for them? And weren't there crazy girls like this back in the 80s? If Bon Jovi write songs for the people that don't listen to the music ( ) now, wouldn't they have done it back then when Jon was younger, cuter, and SINGLE???? :P No matter what the band puts out on an album, there will allways be someone who goes to a Bon Jovi concert in the hopes of grabbing a piece of Jon's @#$.

I guess there's a third group of fans (which I fall into): fans who want Bon Jovi to be what Bon Jovi want to be. I'm not longing for the big hair days that I missed. I don't want them to produce another Bounce either. I have my Bounce. I'm satasfied. I don't need or want another. I want the Bon Jovi who have been doing what they've always done- evolve. They're at the point where they can experiment with their sound. They have such a large fanbase that it'll be certain that someone will love their new material and someone will hate it. But who cares? In the end, it's about the tour where we all get Livin' on a Prayer and come home happy. I want them to keep me guessing. If I get disappointed with their upcomming efforts, I can always listen to New Jersey or Keep the Faith.

Also I don't think this board has a "if-you-don't-like-the-new-albums-then-you-can-just-leave" attitude. I think it's a "if-you-can't-say-something-nice-don't-say-anything-at-all" attitude. A lot of people don't have a problem with people who don't like the new material. The thing that most people object to is those who complain and can't find a good thing to say about Bon Jovi. To say "I don't like Bounce because..." is one thing. To say, "I am fed up with this band! Bon Jovi are dead to me!" is another.

Stranger, I agree with your tracklist, on the most part. I can understand why some of the better demos didn't make it onto the album, but it's a pitty that No Regrets (my favorite) was only a bonus. Sometimes I think that they put Joey on for personal pleasure. It's cute, but it ain't much of a song. To call some of the songs on Bounce the worst on the planet is kinda harsh, though. My picks for the planets four worst songs are Gone by *N Sync, Wannabe by the Spice Girls, Barbie Girl by Aqua, and Closing Time by some band that I don't know the name of.
