i might be a big fan but i don't see how any of you can't think that someone who followed them from 1984 or 87 to present day isn't a bigger fan?

not strictly no - certainly this isn't normally the case but it's something that can tip them over the edge

dont think it makes them a bigger fan by age....but certainly gives them more 'history'...and been thru the mill far more then a 2003 fan for exmaple...

Well, it depends on what you think defines fandom.
Is it just how long you've followed the band? How intensely you follow the band? How much you wear your fandom on the outside?

If you started following the band in 1986 and you're still a fan but you've only been to three concerts and you've only bought their official albums (no singles, no collecting b-sides) does that make you a bigger fan than someone who is just 21 and was introduced to the band when they were 10 (when KTF came out?) What if that 21 year old has spent the past 10 years collecting every single, every article ever written, going to every show they could, travelling around the world, tattooing Bon Jovi related things on their bodies. Is it how much time you spend on line? How much m's no wayoney you've spent over the years? How many bootlegs you have collected? How many times you've met the band members? How many miscellaneous facts you can spout off about the band? If you know where they live? If you're in the fan club?

There's no way to grade it and no reason to judge it.

no reason to judge it no - it's never one of those life/death-importance news topics you see on tv everyday or constantly disputed in halls and classrooms

however i do think age is enough to tip someone over the edge - and on people like me that's just tough luck

but only to "tip" them - because other than that there's no real difference
