So what if he was? Would it be so bad if he was into them? They're into him. They are people too.

And I think that that part of the song is just a cover. It was written in 1986. It was too early for him (or even 'them' if you want to include Richie and Desmond) to come out to the world. Or maybe that part of the song was written by one of the other two men who like women with nails on their fingertips.

The men he loves don't have to be truckers. That's stereo-typical.

No its definitaly about the threesome, Jon, Richie - Desmond.
2 of them had a fling, the 3rd joined in. When writing yglabn, they were simply referring to each other
