We desperately need guitars, come on Jon, let Phil do some cool things that are worthwhile.

In the studio, everything is possible, about live, well, that's the thing. All the songs of THINFS sound with more live guitars than on the album. They need a new direction, whatever it is, the guitars should be more audible on the album, I miss the Bon Jovi songs driven by a good riff or a good rhythmic base of electric guitars.

If they simply produce a more organic album as they sound live, I would be satisfied, because the guitars are really audible live. Just bring back great riffs and a good rhythmic guitar base, ah! and of course some impressive solos.

They don’t need IIWYM riffs, they just need simple power chords that are audible in the mix. Add some interesting fills and some extended solos and even average songs can sound better.

I'm not talking about doing muscle riffs all the time, but doing something like Last Man Standing or the riff of Have a Nice Day. Whatever, but they have to change the way of presenting the songs, because it becomes boring and too harmless.

IIWYM oh!, this song got balls. Love it. Sambora is shredding it all out, and Jon on fire. The old good times.

Bullet was not great, but Thorn in my Side was cool. Don't give up and keep trying, they have Phil X, maybe the boy has something to add to that.

We should do another survey about the next new album, do we want a Walls sound? or do we want more guitars and that are audible?

Hello Jon!

There are plenty of great rock songs that don’t have soaring vocals. Drums, bass and guitars are integral too.

Us not getting a rock album isn’t due to Jon’s voice, it’s because Jon has no interest in that genre for many reasons.

I thought he still had interest in rock but that he's not gonna stay popular with it if he continued it.

By the way why isn't he interested in it anymore?

His influences were never from the rock genre. The Stones maybe at a push but Dylan, Tom Petty and the other singer/songwriters Jon quotes as being his influences, are not rock.

Also, he associates the leather pants, big hair “baby pictures” with that genre, one which he seems desperate to shun at all costs.

Then there’s the commercial side of things. Chasing trends, the desperation for a commercial hit.

In my opinion, the ONLY viable way of increasing album sales and ticket sales is to tempt the rock audience back with a solid, genuine rock record. There are so many fence sitters, old fans, and potential new fans who would be intrigued by a Bon Jovi album that actually rocked.

Sadly, that will never happen.

This.

I would also add the fact that JBJ frequently says in interviews that the band were ‘lumped’ in that genre due to the looks and due to who the their manager was at the time.

However, they worked at it and did it well at the time, but I don’t think it ever was Jon’s true calling. When he finally managed the band, he gradually started making changes that fitted more his style.
