I agree - very ODD choice as a single and will nodoubt go un noticed in radio world.

I agree Bounce and undivided HAD to me released (and hook me up and all about lovin you if you ask me!..LUV EM!)

BUT I WANT TO KNOW....WHO THE HELL OPENS A CONCERT / TOUR WITH A SONGTHAT HAS NOT BEEN RELEASED...SURELY IT WOULD BE BETTER TO RELEASE BOUNCE JUST PRIOR TO A "WORLD" TOUR???

we need to let everyone know bon jovi music is to party to - not please lonely fans addicted to jbj's romanticism (bit harsh??)

Just when we thought we were getting somewhere....out comes the formula.

Hmm...firstly.....yeah..Mercury is the rest of the world..but the video choice is AALY which Island would be responsible for.

Anyway...regarding opening songs....Bon Jovi themselves is the answer to who the hell opens with an unreleased single.

Tokyo Road - 7,800 F tour
Raise Your Hands - Slippery Tour
Lay Your Hands On Me - Jersey Syndicate Tour (the single wasn't released until much later towards the end)
I Believe - KTF tour

I don't completely agree...Misunderstood and All about loving you are great songs....

However the top 3 songs on the album have to be Undivided, The distance, and Everyday (Hook me up is also good, and so is bounce)

I wouldn't mind seeing all about loving you live

In short, a band who are prepaired to take a few risks. I personaly think Bounce is a bad opener because it's a bad song..... but that's for another thread. If the band came on with the singalongs then it would be boring and predictable. I'd much sooner the band didn't play these at all, and just left these songs for comercial success, and did the good, rock songs on stage. A little like Cris Rea does.

I think that releasing any song other than Undivided will make a bad single. But then again, if they did release Undivided I wouldn't buy it. I have the song on the album, and the bonus tracks will just be at best songs I'll get on a bootleg in the next year. I wouldn't buy any singles now, as I see them as a waist of money. Singles are for the commercial, pop crowd, who won't buy the albums, and aren't interested in Bon Jovi as a band. Sure, I know there will be enough people on the board who will buy everything Bon Jovi do reguardless of what it is because they collect it (I did this a few years ago, so I'm not passing judgement on anybody who does this).

I'd sooner see no singles, which makes the band less popular, which means they'll hopefully start to make rock records again!

Releasing "Undivided" as the next single would be a great choice. Even though we have heard they wouldn't consider it, I think they should re-evaluate the situation of current radio.

"Undivided" has a sound of its own that would fit into current radio very well. There is not anything like it out there now. Sure, you got your songs that are heavy in guitar riffs, but that is about the only similarity. Most everything else is drum-looped, synth sounding, or just an exact replica of other songs.

The drums, vocals, etc; accentuate the song very well. I can only hope that they will release it. I think that I am setting my hopes too high though.

Just a thought.

Take Care,
Norm

I agree

Like I said, I'm not bothered by singles myself. However, everybody who's ever met me knows I'm a big Bon Jovi fan, so it's nice to have something they're listening to, where I'm not ashamed to say, 'yeah, that's Bon Jovi!'. Undivided is the only song on the album I;m proud to say is a Bon Jovi song

While I probably don't hate the song "Bounce" as much as you do, Mike...I agree it's not the best opener. It seems so pedestrian. I was hoping they'd drop it as the opener and go with Hook Me Up by the US leg..but last night's performance isn't encouraging. I think we are stuck with it.

Hook Me Up does throw you with the slowing down in the verses, and I normally wouldn't consider it as a good opener because of that since once you get going you don't really want to slow down...not on the first song anyway. But I also feel that in keeping with tradition they should open with a song from Bounce. Also the lyrics are perfect in Hook Me Up...using the Satellite Dish screens and all....if they were imagininative enough it could make for a dramatic entrance...but as it is.they probably just walk out..smile..and start playing Bounce. Whatever.
