It's a generally accepted stereotype in the UK - people in the north are unsophisticated and 'hard', and people in the south are much more of the bourgeoisie, and a little bit 21st century with regards to sexuality. Not true, but enough crap comedians get half a routine off it, so good luck to them. (There are gays in the north too!)

i get called cute by 40 yr old house wifes and it dont bothe-wait yeah it does, its why i stopped buying lottery tickets from sainburys <_<
