I'm happy to hear that he wants to stay committed to the songs from the album the tour is supporting but I don't get his love for Work lol! If I'm a betting person, which I am, I think it will be dropped and replaced soon.
Thanks a lot! Well, regarding THINFS, i hope he will keep his Word this time, so that it won't suffer the same fate as the other more recent albums.

I agree with you. The one area I've been critical of Jon on, is that he gives up too early on the album he's promoting because he sees dead reactions.

But maybe (Part of) the reason is that tours always Start in the US. With crowds who apparently are way more into greatest Hits setlists, unfortunalety.

Not a fantastic Song imo, but it would be somewhat nice to hear it again. Personal realistic wishes for this One would be born again tomorrow, and maybe runaway to make the First half more "bearable" for the casuals (as Captmorgs said).
That's no tradition at all, he did it ONCE in 2011.

I expect to see the same as 2013 show in Montreal right - the return of Bed Of Roses and I'll Be There For You - they weren't part of the set in 2013, but were played and thus came back to the set for a few months. At most, we might get a cover of My Funny Valentine which they did in 2006 and 2011 shows and it's fairly easy on the vocals.

Right. And plus, I feel like Runaway is much easier on Jon's voice... so it checks two boxes: make everyone happy, and easy on the vocals

I have a bad feeling about Working Men. Three shows in a row including a promo show for a song that nobody cares about and was dropped after TC tour?

If somebody can explain it to me, I can't understand why this particular song is replacing many others that are easy to sing, well known, loved by fans... dunno maybe I'm thick but I don't see absolutely any reason why they didn't drop it after the first show. If Jon wants recent *hits* why not WWWB? It's on the GH, he loves it, has been played regularly. Why not WAN if Jon wants to have a socially concious song (with shitty lyrics) every show? It was played almost every night the past tour and it's newer so in Jon's eyes it's a better song and a hit. Or why not the original socially concious song, ya know, a little thing called Runaway that may or may not be the f*cking song that started all.

I usually don't care and don't nitpick about setlists because I accept what the majority of fans want. And this tour I'm liking most of the setlist for a change. But the inclusion of shitty songs that Jon seems fixated on puzzles me. Isn't that what his acoustic solos shows are for?

I was hoping for a small indoor European tour in the fall. Pretty bummed

Oh and I'm also sick of his "nobody cared about TD in the USA so I'm not playing any songs" excuse. Nobody cared about TC and WAN. Try again, what about "those damn songs are a bitch to sing?"

I'm afraid the only time we'll hear a 90s song other than the regular hits will be DC for the MSG shows

I'm not saying it's my logic, but it's probably Jons.

Agreed with the above. TD songs go over like a lead brick. Whether it's because of the subject matter or not I don't know. But the newer songs go over better than the TD ones in North America, that is something I've absolutely seen. I'm not trying to be insulting Symbeline but you're making arguments based on personal choice and not about how North American audiences actually are.

Look, I'm not saying Jon is making the right call recycling songs from tour to tours but if he brought back WWWB we'd have an out cry of "This again??". I like WWWB far more than Working Man but I'd rather variety from tour to tour. The argument can't be both "why is he bringing back a song they didn't play last tour" AND "he needs to mix it up more". I think it all stems back to people don't like the song. I figured what the song is about is why it's being played this tour.

I remember reading my brother's old Kerrang! Magazines around the These Days era. Jon made reference to it bombing in America a lot and even said the band were banned from Texan radio for some of the "unholy" themes on the album. I'm not sure if he was exaggerating about the Texas ban but he gauged the general reaction and acted accordingly.
