I think they were doing something crazy to get Jon's attention... He really didn't react much to the music. He was playing air maracas to KTF which was cool to see. Jon's wife and daughter are very close, almost like sisters... They shared a lot of laughs together.... His wife was probably into the show the most out of everyone down there... Even his family were more into the classic hits verses the new stuff and looked like fans during LYHOM, Wanted, Prayer, Etc... It was just cool watching them react to Jon. They really do seem like a great family... I can't believe how big Matt got. I remember him when he was just a litter wanna be skater punk from back in the day. He does a good job with security though... I have to hand it to him.
Interesting part, thanks for that!

Does anyone know if this was the last time Wild in the Streets was done?
Cut to 3:20 to see probably why. I can't recall if Phil has ever done Wild in the Streets.

EDIT: Scratch that, it's been done 5 times since then but not since that tour.

I love Wild In The Streets. And I don't think we're seeing it again. Too bad, Phil would kill it on that solo. (Why the hell did Jon let Bobby butcher the solo with Richie standing right there? Will never understand this and the same with In These Arms.)

I saw it in San Sebastian, Spain in 2011 and that might be the last time. My recollection was that it was a train wreck.

I remember seeing a video of WITS on LH Tour that at the same 3:20 of this video, Jon showed a scared face that was so funny - even himself was surprised by the mess.

That was a funny moment.

Actually the beggining of that show was very weird ... Jon was on full autopilot, WITS was a train wreck, Jon missed his cue on BTBMB ... but they somehow recovered after a few songs and put on a hell of a show !!

Hi Kathleen!
Loved hearing New Year's Day; had a lot of energy. It was one of the few new songs I didn't record....Hope to record it tomorrow night.

Am curious how you thought Jon sounded on the first song, just sounded "strange" to me.....for me to notice it without having any musical inclination whatsoever, I can only imagine what people who do have a musical background thought!

The other 7 people I was with really enjoyed the show, though a few did complain not recognizing the new songs....their own fault really, as I dropboxed them all a copy of the new cd for them to listen to ahead of time.

I am thrilled that he is playing so many new songs. At the last u2 concert I was at, Bono played 6-7 new songs from his new cd also and I remember thinking why doesn't Jon do that.

You are correct - the entire beginning was strange. But they settled down and did a great show. Interestingly I just listened to our recording of that show about a week ago, probably for the first time since I edited it. I have listened to Barcelona and Lisbon but not that one. I realized what a fine show it was. I guess my memory of the beginning stayed with me and I thought it wasn't very good.

Ha, that happened to me a month ago. I used to do IEM taping and in Springsteen's book he was talking about the time at Convention Hall in Asbury back in 1999 when he let a few fans in for an impromptu mini concert. I went back to listen to that IEM after reading it and it was a lot worse than I had remembered

Best show Ive ever been to
One of those magical nights Jon gave us with a setlist full of rarities,I had the feeling during the show that everything could be possible, and when Richie started This Aint A Love Song I had one of my best moments on a BJ concert ever.

On the other hand, someone said that the last time Next 100 years was played was during the Crush tour, but I remember it was played again during the european one wild night tour.
