It is indeed. I just wanted to point that little tour. I think rosa3 is the true troll here.

For me personally, I would call this a successful tour. For one, it was more stripped down, no fancy stage, no huge stage, it was simple and back to basics. Maybe we were just use to the big stage shows, it may have looked underwhelming, but just looking at the crowds and seeing them enjoying themselves is enough for me to call this a success. Considering also there was a lot at stake here, especially not having Richie, many critics have kept there eyes and ears open to notice any difference, and yes, there were a few critics that did pointed out his absence, but the majority of the reviews were positive, but by far the most important was seeing Jon and the band, the difference from this tour and the last tour, WAN, is big. Jon was enjoying himself and the band looked good and having fun, in particular David Bryan. He was more upfront and interacted more with Jon, maybe also he kind of filled in a little Richie's spot, but this was the first time David looked really happy and enjoying himself. Phil X was great, he really has meshed well with the band, and Jon is very appreciative of him and his efforts. So, this is my personal view of this tour. If you want to agree with me, great, if not, that's ok to, to each his own here, but I will say this. We don't know yet if there will be a second leg of this tour, whether here or Europe or anywhere else, for the ones who did saw the band they were lucky to have gone, because there is a good chance that Jon just might not tour again until next year, or anytime soon, so I am appreciative that they toured this year and were successful.

Just got home from the show... It was awesome! Scars was skipped and Jon going into the audience during Bad Medicine didn't happen either to make room for the 5 song encore. He forgot the words to both Saturday Night (which I knew he would do aka Saturday Night) and Captain Crash... He actually gave a nod to Phil for playing it right and him messing it up... He completely messed up the verse and went to the chorus... One thing that was really cool was Jon calling out Captain Crash to all the band members during the solo of the song played prior (which I believe was Saturday Night)... it was totally unplanned and he looked at Phil for reassurance...

So tired and drunk now so I'll stop and give a real review tomorrow....

Agree. I am also very appreciative that they toured. Success is that they completed the tour and people showed up. Simple.

How can anyone not appreciate that a band which began 34 years ago is still playing (with a few member changes) new material and can still write this material which can't be easy?

I applaud Jon for understanding his voice is not the same as he's aged so the new songs reflect this. He's proud of the new material and should be. A lot of work went into the new album. He recorded it because it's his passion. He is extremely grateful he still has the platform to share his music.

He even admits in a song that his voice is shot but he still keeps going and everything will be okay. Most would quit but not him. And again it's because it's his passion.

Jon found this passion when he was young. How many are blessed to find theirs and then be so successful? The constant degrading and complaining about every damn thing imaginable is a symptom of some very unhappy people who obviously don't have their own passion or purpose in life to fulfill them. If their passion was a band that has changed because of the passage of three decades then it's time to let it go and move on.

I am very disappointed that this board cannot do better than this. I'm not saying that everything posted has to be sunshine and rainbows but sweeping generalizations that the band is sh$t from people who haven't even attended a concert during this tour is pathetic.

Just when I think being woken up at 6am on a Sunday is bad, I log in here to read just tiresome moaning and bickering from supposed adults.

What is it with people these days having to always slate the opposite opinion? It's all OPINION. It's fair enough if people think JBJ's voice doesn't cut it FOR THEM these days. It's different- it's not a patch on what it has been. It's totally to be expected that people won't - Having seen the Palladium show, I found his voice perfectly fine on the new stuff, but awful on Who Says & Bad Medicine. He seems to have improved lately so will be interested to see how the hits sound in the flesh.

It's totally acceptable for me and others sitting thousands of miles away to call out these U.S setlists as too static. They are. They always are in the states. It seems like people are happy with that, so that's what you get. Obviously those of us who have done multiple European shows are spoiled, but it's what this band has led us to expect over the years. People don't have a piss break during Dry County over here. The first 20 songs being the same every night and only switching out a couple of songs in the encore is not good enough. There's no excuse for it.

If you enjoy the show, and why wouldn't you, I always enjoy watching my favourite band perform their songs, that's great and it's good to hear reviews and observations. But people can be critical - it's not just "Bon Jovi are shit lolz" it's constructive criticism - people want them to be better. So play nice and try and discuss like adults.

I've not seen any opinions which are abusive or nasty. Until then, surely we're all entitled to express our own?

You absolutely can critique a show from a YouTube video. You CAN hear songs sung poorly, witness missed cues, hear wrong notes or gage stagnant set lists. To say otherwise is ignorant. On the flip side,someone watching Jon shout a vocal rather than sing it SHOULD factor in the live experience, were it definitely is, at times, less obvious or such an issue.

I'll critique anything I feel is shit, but I won't say the live experience WAS shit as I wasn't there.

People on here saying you've no valid opinion unless you were there need to take off the blinkers and ask themselves have they never watched a live performance on YouTube or TV (BJ or any artist) and thought, "Christ that sounds BAD" - I'd be amazed if you haven't. What's the difference?
