I think it's been a reasonable discussion on here, it's an interesting topic to throw theories around. Social Media is the usual shitstorm, with a split of people slating the band decrying the end of days or people crawling up Matt's arse to state that BJ are beyond using any trickery. No middle ground as ever.

Personally, I believe Matt and actually used the lighting in my first post on this, mainly because the light flash on the drumbeat caught my eye in the vid which led my brain to question it.

They clearly weren't lip syncing, just what they were performing wasn't coming out the PA. At first I thought Jon had noticed and gone back to the mic to cover, but he hadn't he was singing something else. The solos give it away - they are all business as usual.

It does beg the question why they don't have anyone who can hear what the audience hears? Surely that's the mixing desk? It should not have been on for as long as it was, it was playing a studio version, just turn it off!

Only other thought - do they have any adverts plugging the album before the show? Would that be the THINFS audio? That's probably a clip rather than the full song though I guess.

But it's definitely a good topic as to why they had this- but as has been stated, we know it was a simple technical glitch and the audio simply played over the band, but it definitely does give a talking point.

After watching the video for the umpteenth time, here's my conclusion: I have no idea what the hell Matt is talking about and won't pretend to. However, the bottom line is, Jon continues to sing "This house was built on trust" when he should even though it has already played via whatever the hell happened. Same with Tico and same with Phil and Shanks. It's common knowledge that bands can't really hear what is coming over the PA, which is the only question mark that remains. If they did know something was off, they wouldn't have realized it anyway. However, the rest of the show was, in my opinion, clearly live. It just doesn't make sense that they would lip sync, what everyone has already pointed out, such an easy song to sing.

Regardless, it's a shame as I love the song, and it did get all messed up and it left me bewildered for the rest of the show.

Tico had hit the drums at "all that you've got" 5 instead of 4 times and that caused this trainwreck. The backing vocals were programmed to go off after the 4th hit and the band somehow made their way back reasonably quick but the already running backing track made it sound crazy for quite some time. Until they turned it off.

He just can't lip sync like he used to back in the good ol' days.

Well, the song sounded a lot like the studio version, specially Jon's vocals from the start.

So, why are they doing this? I like the studio version, but the live version sounded a lot weaker.
