I've been saying this for a awhile.

IF Richie would release an album, I don't think it would be like SITT or US, but I still think it would be an amazing album. In my book the songs he has put out in the 2000s have been really great songs.
Take Me On, One Last Goodbye, Great Hall of Fame, Sorry is Just Too Late (co-wrote)... Those are great songs, and an album in the vein of them would certainly not make me dissapointed!

Everyone knew (or used better judgement) that they would properly tour Europe after the London shows.

Well, yeah. But how many people (who did know they'd do Europe this year) still went to the o2 shows because it would still be a year before they'd return?

I don't care if he writes a third album and it's complete trash; as long as it gives him a reason to tour as a solo act and for me to hear him play SITT/UD songs live, I can die a happy man.

Am I alone in having no interest in any new solo "albums"? JBJ could be cool but I'd much rather hear more new band stuff & a TOUR. Maybe I'm stating the obvious, if the band is truly done for 3plus years then I suppose solo is better than nothing, but I really hope solo work doesn't delay future band material/plans.

I'd only be interested in Jon's solo material. If it's anything like either of his first 2 solo albums, that would be fantastic. I really don't care for Richie's solo material, but I do love when he does Stranger in This Town live.

I would also like some solo material, but I am also a little worried about things. Bands taking breaks and allowing members to do solo material is very normal these days, but Bon Jovi and the band members aren't exactly real young anymore. I'm worried about Jon's voice and how it'll be after a couple years not with this band. Think back from These Days to Crush..look at much the voice changed there. Jon has finally gotten his voice back to pretty good quality..but at his age, not using it effectively for a couple years could hurt it. Even in his last solo album, he never pushed his voice real hard.

So yeah, I'd love some solo work from both Jon and Richie, but I hope the break isn't TOO long.

I don’t look at this like that. I don’t want to compare it to previous albums at all. I don’t even compare SITT to US. Each one has some great songs, and each one is unique. And he’s in a different time and different place right now as a person, with a lot of new things to write about. He even admitted it in the interview you can find in the other thread. Even if there’s only one song that will give me chills I say it’s worth it. Although I personally think he would surprise us all positively with some amazing music and lyrics, especially the ones who underestimate him. He was on fire in Europe so he’s in a great shape as a musician at the moment if you ask me. All I am saying is - give him a chance, and make judgments later. “No need to fear what hasn’t happened yet”

Richie really needs to keep himself busy during the break, he only had a few months off and struggled to cope so he really doesnt need to laze about for a year or so.
