Well album sales aren't as impacted by touring as they are by other means of promotion such as "PR", and releasing hit singles.... For most artists touring is usually about making up for the lack of profit they don't get off album sales.... But bands like Bon Jovi, who have been around so long have pretty decent contracts.... Or I would at least hope they would.

So many people to see a Bon Jovi concert based on 20 years of songs - some of them dont even buy the new album.

Yeah i guess times have changed . It used to be the way to promote an album .

I think a new album has to be promoted in some way by a band. If a band or artist doesn't tour then they usually do TV appearances,radio interviews etc.

bon jovi are opening the o2 arena on the 24th june 07 tickets for the gig went on sale this morning. i just ordered mine wooohoooooooo
