Jon was really in good mood and I think he was surprised by the crazy crowd. There was just 2000 people at the Circo Price Theater in Madrid but we scream, singing and jumping like 20000!!.

The 13 songs of the show were really good! Especially the beggining with Not Fade Away like London'97 was amazing! Also Keep The Faith with Jon going crazy at the end of the show in such a small venue with the people almost on the stage was really to remember!

But two things were really disappointing. First, the band just play 75 minutes and 13 songs. This wasn't a free show. The tickets were from 50 to 80 euros. It was a really good chance to do a real special show. The 2000 people were really die hards who have seen all the hits they played last night a lot of times. They were in Madrid in June at Rock In Rio and they give us a greatest hits show then. 2 or 3 gems were make the people really gone crazy. At the end Obie was on the pit, we asked him about the little time of the show and he said "it's for the venue". If they have to end at 23:15 for the venue, what's the problem with start the show at 21 intead of 22 like they did???

The second disappointment, Rihana! She was recieved with a great booing from teh crowd when she walks on the stage at Livin'. This was supossed to be a rock show and bon jovi a rock band. Kid Rock was also in Madrid for the MTV Awards and he would be a great choice! Nobody enjoied Living at it sholud be and they people really clap when she go out.

Great songs but no excuses to play just 13 hits with the price and a theater full of die hars comming from Germany, Italy, England, Portugal...
Thanks for the review. WOW, I also thought this was going to be a standard concert not too long but not this short either. I am so glad my friend and I decided not to go at the end.

Hope everyone had a good time anyway.

I think bringing Rihanna out is a great idea to push sales and appeal to a different market without having to bother remixing a song with a rapper.

It's no wonder Bon Jovi fans are so derided, why must we be so elitest and separatist all the time?

P.S. She's hot.

Uhm, wtf Rihanna? This is why they aren't taken serious anymore by critics. If I'd been at the show I'd been so pissed off.. Not a bad set but really short.

I think to be elitist it's not the question. The question it's to have a little respect with your fans and with what they have paid for. If you want to gave something especial to your people take Bruce Springsteen, Jennifer Netless, Keith Urban, Kid Rock, Southside Johnny or any other band that make music like yours to the stage. But if we have to see a super pop star destroy Livin after pay 80 euros for 13 songs, Jon can't expect from us that we smile and sing happy.

They've never been taken seriously by critics. Rihanna has far more critical acclaim than Bon Jovi, which sums this little union up neatly.

Do you think Santana fans kicked off when they brought out Supernatural with every pop star under the sun and then went on and released Game of Love with Michelle Branch? It went on to sell millions and gained stacks of awards.

There is nothing at all wrong with remaining current by involving new artists in what you're doing. The fact that Rihanna's music doesn't appeal to me doesn't mean that I can't respect her as a viable recording artist with a lot of talent. In case you didn't realise, they're promoting a greatest hits record here...

That said, the prices charged for a set of that length are a joke. It's not going to get any better any time soon. At least not until they're playing to half empty venues consistently.

This is the sad reality.

Wtf Rihanna, seriously? What a joke. Now I'm actually glad that I didn't get tickets for the show.

This. It's only when artists with true talent show up that Bon Jovi fans don't like that it becomes obvious that Bon Jovi fans don't follow other music styles quite well. They love it when Bon Jovi music is out there, yet when some artist in another genre seems to like a certain Bon Jovi song it's wrong because that artist doesn't make the music they should make, completely ignoring the fact that Rihanna has been more refreshing and interesting to pop music as Bon Jovi has to, erm, pop music. As they're certainly not making rock music anymore.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan
