I would have loved them to have been on it a few years ago, with all the exposure that goes with it, maybe not so much with the current voice, but a Sao Paulo type performance would do enough to not come off as awful.
Remember that Isle of Wight performance?? That attempt to get the crowd singing along to Because We Can...
Another festival where people aren't there to see them would be an utter car crash.

Depends. If they come out and do a proper greatest hits set they would go down well. If half the set was from This House and Lost Highway, like most of their sets these days, it would be a disaster. No one but a Bon Jovi crowd would know any of those songs...

By the time the headline bands come on a Glasto the audience is too wasted to notice Jon's voice. There is a problem of the fact that the headliners usually broadcast the set live on TV. Not sure how that would go...

Well that's there own thought for trying that on BWC. They'll sing to Prayer Bad Name et al. Cut out the deadwood and they could have had a great legends slot, sadly they've declined too much for this to be a viable proposition.

Really makes you wonder what the point of the Kay Burley interview was if the tour dates didnt follow 48 hours later?

Exactly. That was my point as well. The Kay Burley interview was totally pointless. As were all the teasers from Live Nation and everyone the other week.

I'm sure there were negotiations, even at a very advanced stage. But something must've gone way off the last weeks, causing it all to go silent again. Curious whether plans just need to be readjusted to some circumstances or if it's all scrapped again.

Could be a Glasto spot... Jon's always been spectacularly anti Glasto while in the UK in the past so since they don't confirm on sale that could have thrown him. Or maybe they bumped him down and suddenly the UK needs a slot. Does seem very unusual to get some Live Nation hype and then nothing, especially if Azoff is the manager now.

Does everyone just refer to Bon Jovi as 'he/him' nowadays then?

I don't see that happening in the current incarnation of the band, especially, given how widely broadcasted it is, the backlash after the show would be tremendous and I can't imagine the organizers not doing the proper research beforehand.

I think much like Super Bowl Half Time, this ship has also sailed. Which is ironic, considering Jon's past stance on Glasto, at least back then he was still somewhat capable of doing it.

...
No, it wouldn't, it was still bad. The diehards were impressed at the time because their standards have lowered so much from following every show on YouTube. Show the pro-shot version to any other person with ears and they would tell you it sounds horrible.

Plus, it's not like Jon has an 'on/off switch' to reach another gear; otherwise, the HOF performance would not have been as horrible as that was his most important performance in years.
