Default 22nd row

Has anyone ever been on the 22nd row? How's the view?

Not 22nd row, but I was in 18th row (my best ever) in Toronto in 2000 and it was too far back, as far as I'm concerned. Sure it was close, but there were rows and rows of heads and arms in my way. I had to stand on my tiptoes the whole night and never once saw the entire stage at the same time. Luckily most of the time I could see Jon through the heads in front of me, but it was hard seeing the other band members. Of course, I could have just watched the screens, but if I wanted to watch them on tv, I wouldn't go to a live concert!

Oh I should add that although the view from my row wasn't the best, the atmosphere on the floor was amazing! Everyone on their feet and singing and dancing! And it was so cool when the confetti fell and it landed on us! But if I had the choice of seats again, I think I'd rather get seats in the lower level stands closer to the stage than 18th row on the floor.

Keep in mind, this is just my opinion, and I'm also one who can't stand having a head blocking even a tiny part of the screen at a movie.

Thanks Diane! I was afraid it would be like that. I'm sure I would feel the same way. IF I do go to a certain show it will be with 2 short people and they probably wouldn't like being so far back either. How do you think 14th row would be? That would be 4 less rows of people's heads and arms.

You know what Becky, I've had some really bad seats at some concerts. I am a short person also so it's hard to see over anyone's head!
However, just being in the audience (even if you have to glance at the screen now and then) is an experience not to be missed. The sound is usually good anywhere and the energy is incredible.

Hmm... 14th row? I don't really know, Becky. I was only on the floor that 1 time, so I don't have anything to compare my 18th row to. However, last fall when I was trying to get floor seats for a show I had decided not to take anything further back than 10th row. I didn't get it, btw. But if I had the chance for 14th row, right now, and it meant that or no concert, I probably would take it. As long as I wasn't paying too much over face value.

I probably wouldn't go for anything farther back than 10th row or so. Especially if you're going with someone short. I remember when I saw Poison years ago, I had 15th row floor seats. I was stuck behind some amazon and couldn't see most of the show. I'd go for lower level, closer to the stage.

In Milwaukee, I had 9th row and saw just fine. Chicago I had 8th row and had a good view. In Madison I had 5th row and had 2 people standing in front of me who must have been 6 feet tall (one girl's hair added an additional 3 feet). The one with the hair kept moving back and forth the whole time. I had to poke her in the back and ask her to move so I could take a picture a few times. How tall are you?

I think it probably depends on the venue, too...several of the outdoor ampitheatres for the summer US tour are angled up from the stage a bit, presumably so that everyone can have a better chance to see over someone in front of them. In that case, I wouldn't think 22nd row would be that bad...but I'd be happy just to get a seat!
