I think thereīs no need for the band to continue autopilot and yes!! they have to keep these 2-3 gems avery show, with different openers and main set every night

My 5 highlights

- Brokenpromiseland
- I Believe
- Something to believe in
- Dual solo of Thorn In My Side
- The Intro and the scenario... really cool!!

My 5 dissapointments

- excess of Vanilla/autopilot... total scorn to USA and Canadian fans
- playing WhoSays, CaptCrash, Sleep, BadMedicine and LH in excess
- lots of LH songs everynight... it seemed LH TOUR 2
- Prayer and Wanted in encore = 0 surprises almost every nights
- high prices (overall O2 arena)
I'm assuming you want overall highlights meaning we can include shows we weren't in attendance for or do you want personal highlights/lowlights from shows we actually attended?

Seems like there's a mixture of both....

I was wondering that too ....
I was making a post yesterday talking selfishly about my own experiences. Then I saw the replies just before hitting the reply button and gave up responding, as I was not talking about BON JOVI in general.Later in the day I saw Erik reply that was a lot like what I wanted to post so I was hesitating should I post or not ....

Well it's a message board everybody can say what they feel like saying ...

Here is what I wanted to post (but saved thinking maybe later)...

hmmm interesting thread !As I read other fans replies, I feel I should think about it deeper maybe but I would rather be selfish and talk truly about my personal highlights better than a general view of the fans community.

my highlights are very **selfish** They are just mine. I don't see the band on a general level but on my personal one

highlights

1) All the gems played at the shows in europe in 2010 were all in all worth the O2 residency revolution in the european mentality (cheating !!!! LOL all those are just one highlight as I was lucky enough to not miss one show )
2)Having the band back in paris , MY CITY after 9 years OFF. And it was with a great audience , so that was a huge highlight to me.
3) Getting It's Hard letting You Go as the last song of the O2 residency I was very emotional and I am almost NEVER (a very special mention for that specific one song as I thought it was lost cause as they did These Days just before ..My heart skipped a beat then had that one louder **added back ** beat in my chest when it began ... BOOM I was struck)
4) Having a real conversation/meeting with Jon - it sounds silly but that is one absolute major HIGHLIGHT of this year from my bon jovi fan level. Yes definitely - the residency had one good thing , it made the band members really reachable.
5) Being able to meet all my jovi friends twice with the tour first and then with the promo following in november in madrid (JOVI heavy year) THIS is a large part of the fun of being a BON JOVI fan.

Disappointments

1) The prices
2) The production and hyper technology that killed for a big part the spontaneity
3) The ultra formated shows (you had like 3 or 4 patterns)
4) The fans community is no longer 'special' as such , you are in if you bring your wallet.... It is not the fun strong community that it used to be.
5) A seated residency at the O2 at least they should have let the floor GA in each category .. those seats IMO don't allow the same atmosphere

My "personal" highlights:

1) Hearing Damned, Dry County, Always (twice), These Days (twice), Turn the page, Diamond Ring, Just Older, Get ready, Shot trough the heart, Roulette, Something for the pain, Homebound train, Happy now (twice).
2) Jonīs voice: We would not dream of hearing some of those songs some years ago.
3) Santa fe: Even though the original version was not played, it shocked me anyway.
4) Morumbi concert - the best day of my life ... unforgetable ...
5) NO TLFR junk.

Dissapointments:

1) Ticket prices
2) Diferent rules for diferent cities (when it comes to song selections)
3) Richie singing LYHOM - it doesnīt suit him.
4) Bandieraīs in these arms solo.
5) WSYCGH - who says it canīt go to hell ?

It's a horrible feeling isn't it? Especially on the day of the show.

Lowlights (lots!)
* The lame performances of songs from the first 2 albums and instantly dropping them afterwards
* The o2 disaster (ticketwise and performing wise) - One can only imagine what Bruce would have pulled off over 12 nights!
* The LH songs still played
*WFTWM still played even if it is even more crap than any LH song
* Bobby Bandiera- need I say more
* The ticket prices
* JBJ's nasal whining voice
*Lacklustre performances of old classics with no energy at all (like Blood on Blood - compare it to 1989 and start to cry)
*the lame stage show
*Richie Sambora -get him drunk again so he might play better -the laziest player ever - did he ever sweat ONCE during the whole tour ?
*The fact that they come to Europe with this tragedy

YOu could find thousands more lowlights.

This tour is the worst BJ tour ever - just when you thought the LH tour was a disaster. Jonny even topped that.Fans got ripped with lacklustre performances of a band going thru the motions. They are clearly one of the most boring live acts (if not THE most boring ) around these days and retirement is long overdue.
In former times the crap cds were overshadowed by good live shows but the last really great tour was 14 ears ago sadly.

What is even more annoying are those "fans" (I call em blind followers)who rave about "great setlists" when songs like ILTT/WGIGO/MAM/WFTWM and losts of others are played in ONE show.Pathetic!!!!

Rant over!
Hi pinky boy .

My highlights:

- Finally seeing Bon Jovi live in O2. Traveling to London at such young age was a huge deal for me. And they did not dissapoint.
- Jon's improvement in vocals. Sure he had his dark days, but overall he was very solid this whole tour. And I thought he was pretty good during LH tour, but if you compare some of the performances, it's not even close. And since the autumn I think Richie has really showed signs of true form.
- The rarities played. Something To Believe In, Santa Fe, Letting You Go, Let It Rock, so many great ones that we never expected to hear again. I'm really glad that I've had the opportunity to witness some of them live myself.
- Tour schedule itself. They visited a lot of new places and places they haven't been to for a long time and that's a great thing. The 12 night O2 recidency at first looked quite weird, but I'd say it turned out to be succes especially for us, diehards.
- Stage, screens and other production, especially the indoor version, it's incredibly cool during the opening montage.

My lowlights:
- Average core setlist. I know that a core setlist needs to exist, but I think they could do a better job picking some songs for it.
- Richie's laziness during the first half of the tour.
- With the exception of London and a few small shows, no European Tour till next summer.
- Very little fan interaction. In the world of facebook, twitter, etc., I think they need to create some interactive stuff online, so fans could follow the band more than before.
- Ticket system. Not the prices themselves, but the whole thing with golden, diamond and other shitty circles, plus seated floor. When I go to a show to see the band I love, I want to jump my ass off and sing my heart out. They should stop trying to invent a bike and just make a standing pit so that the floor would be filled with young people like myself that are dedicated enough to come early and stand there hours before gigs.

My highlights:

1)I saw Bon Jovi second time and traveled to Paris. It was very good trip.
2)Let it rock, Blood in Blood live were amazing
3)Jon voice was much better than 2 years ago in Helsinki
4) I saw them close around acoustic song, it is silly but I enjoyed it. I got some good pics :P

Dissapointments:
1) Ticket prices
2)I hoped to hear Shot trough the heart, Roulette, These Days. It wasnt my fav setlist, but not bad either.
3) I will see then in Helsinki 2011, but I missed Golden area tikets, just few minutes against me. I hate this system...

It would be nice to meet other BJ fans

Like David I haven't been to any shows so it's wrong if I comment .. but I will.

Highs:

1) Return of the old songs and plenty of rare ones.
2) Jons vocals.
3) The intro
4) The band being on fire
5) Passion being there at 90% of concerts by the looks of it.

Lows:
1) Ticket Prices
2) Lack of The Circle songs
3) The amount of LH songs
4) Brokenpromiseland only being played once
5) Jon not keeping certain promises.

This is a mixture of both my show and shows that I wasn't at.

Highlights

- Jon's vocals. IMO, they are the best since the early Bounce tour. Especially since the o2.
- The rarities. As the name suggests, they were rare. But them playing songs that we thought wouldn't have ever been considered again (STBI, (IH)LYG, Let it Rock, SFTP) is awesome.
- LTOR, TIMS, and Happy Now. They all sound great live, and being at the first show to ever hear Happy Now live was pretty sweet.
- Dry County. It's gotten more airings this tour of the decade, and rightfully so. It's epic.
- The energy given at many shows. It's the energy and passion that makes a show great, not necissarily the setlist. Although a mixture of both is epic.

Dissapointments

- Inconsistency. While one show can get 6 or 7 TC songs and the next will get 2 or 3 is mindboggling.
- As I alluded to, lack of TC songs. TIMS, LTOR, and Happy Now should've been staples (although LTOR was earlier in the tour).
- Ticket Prices. I can't complain personally, because I got my ticket for $30, but some of the prices I saw for other seats in other cities is just disgusting.
- Lousy encores on many nights. Newsflash, Jon. Wanted and Prayer isn't an exciting encore.
- Whatever happened to the commitment to play the first 2 albums? I wanted to hear Tokyo Road bad.

Highlights

- the return of many songs most of us thought would never be played again (Shout Through the Heart, Roulette, Only Lonely, Something to Believe In, etc)
- A number of fantastically energetic shows and amazing setlists (Buenos Aires, Sao Paolo, Rio, Sydney and a few more)
- The band's overall entusiasm while performing (even during standard sets)
- The fact that the band has opened shows with more than 5 different songs
- Some cool new cover songs (Turn the Page was especially amazing)

Lowlights

- Ticket prices in some parts of the world are a disgrace (this was why I could not afford to go and see any of the O2 shows)
- Ticket organization: Being a Bon Jovi fan these days is all about money. If you have lots of it, you can get front row. If you are a student (like me), you can't.
- The contradicition that is represented by the band releasing a song called "Work forthe working man" and then letting a fan's level of disposable income decide about the quality of position during a show (and yes, this is, to a certain level, in the CEO's hands. If Bruce can do it, Bon Jovi certainly can too)
- The band obviously only choose to give their all during selected shows, usually shows at the beginning of a leg have vanilla sets. As everyone pays a lot of money, the band should be giving their all every single show.
- Richie's partially sloppy playing and obvious lazyness when it comes to practising

I just realized, my negative section is longer than the positive one. Yet, overall, this tour has been enormously positive to me. And remember that the European leg, where the band was really on fire in 2008, is still to come.
