i have a bootleg video of it from 88 or 89, and it doesnt sound all that good live

Be great to hear 99 In The Shade live, for me its one of the best songs on New Jersey and probably one of the most upbeat cool rockers I've ever heard and hey Tommy and Gina make an appearance. So boys if your reading try and slip this one in at Wembley.

I've never heard of them doing it live.. let alone actually heard it. I have played it live, tbh it's quite a hard song to get sounding right in a live environment, there are a lot of big keys and backing vocals in there, I guess its very much a studio-sounding song. Love to hear it live as I think it's up there with the best of them on New Jersey myself..

incidentally I think I have an mp3 of a live performance of Wild Is The Wind, I think its an acoustic version of the song...

Yep I saw/heard it live in Australia in '89. They did a free accoustic set outside the Virgin Megastore in Melbourne (they did the same in Sydney too). Part of this appearance is on Access all Areas.
It sounded great.
