On some performances of Born to be my Baby you could tell that Jon (whether it was by reflex or what not) was about to move around right as the first chorus starts but holds back for whatever reason.

Well he moved plenty at sandy relief!!!

Question for those at the shows, does he move for its my life?? Usually for that one!!

I'm still convinced that's it's cos he needs the telecaster but why he should forget words of songs he has sung for years.........??

Maybe the issue is off stage which why the impression is that he does not want to be there!! Maybe it's an injury......no one really knows but at least Richie is having a great time!!

It's wild to see the difference between the Jon from yesteryear and nowadays:

In a recent interview, he claimed to run 10 miles every single day. He's pretty static for a guy who runs so much. Though, I'm not surprised he has had knee problems in the past. I remember that during the One Wild Night Tour there was something going on with that.

I just watched the below video clip (from 'Jons mom' thread) and he seems to be moving around just fine...

Indeed, but this just highlights the 'problem' that he seems to be holding back for other large parts of the show, where in the past he didn't.

It shows that he can still perform the 'front man crowd pleaser' role of old (at least to some extent) when he chooses to, as demonstrated by the Sandy Benefit gig. But for whatever reason, be it health, confidence or general laziness, he now chooses more to stay put.

'Its my life' this tour for example is usually a pretty tame performance energy wise from Jon, however at the Sandy gig, where the TV audience was in the millions and he had something to prove to his peers, that performance of IML he was all over that stage.

And obviously, most if not all of the new songs seem to 'require' JBJ to have his guitar and so stand routed to the spot which doesn't help. Yes, you can still perform energetically this way (see some ''Someday I'll be saturday night'' performances etc) but overall it doesn't really help the energy and enthusiasm levels, compared to what we are used to from him.

JBJ - I believe

"Sambora's face is a mask of joyous disbelief, as if previously unaware of his ability to play the instrument at all. Reaching the last fistful of notes, he does a fair impression of a man who is actually ejaculating into his jet black flares."

Definitely don't think it's laziness, I think he's being cautious, maybe overly so, because he's injured himself twice on the last tour.

Well I have a friend going to Nashville and he will report back to me in regards to if the rumors of JBJ's "demise" (LOL) are true or not. I have a big April coming up (St. Paul, Des Moines & Vegas) so hopefully JBJ will be raring to go after spring break!
