Default A question about Bootlegs

I wasn't sure which board to post this on so I picked this one. I was just wondering how does one starts a bootleg collection? It seems like you have to trade to get anything but what if you have nothing to trade? How do you get things to trade in the first place? I hope this isn't too stupid of a question.

There are always people willing to share for example against empty CD-Rs and postage. There are forums outthere where you can start collecting even if you don't have anything to trade.

When I started CD writers didn't reach a wider public yet so I bought some bootlegs at CD-fairs for example. So I had something to trade when CD writers reached a wider public. I haven't payed for bootlegs for years now, everything works with trading.

You can begin by learning how to use bit torrent and then join:

http://www.dimeadozen.org/index.php

there are a pile of high quality bootlegs on their tracker right now - simply for the downloading. And as a last resort - there is always e-bay.

We are very sorry!

At the moment, there are at least 93,000 registered users at www.dimeadozen.org, the maximum allowed under DIME's current configuration.

However, free slots become available for new users daily as inactive accounts are deleted. When DIME has fewer than 93,000 registrants, new users can sign up. Please note that the statistics on DIME's web site are updated every ten minutes; therefore, you may see this message even if the web site reports fewer registered users than the maximum.

Thank you very much for your understanding.

Hi Rina - Haven't seen you here for awhile

Keep trying - they delete people a few times a day - dead accounts and such. Everyone that I have recommended this to has been able to join by trying two or three times a day for a few days. And yes - there is lots of stuff there.
