You implied it. And I don't think they are the biggest market for touring. I think that if they decided to do a full comprehensive tour of Europe, they would have much larger audiences and make a lot more money. The US isn't 'concert starved' like much of Europe is.
Yeah, but right now the economy in the U.S. is stronger than in Europe. From a business perspective, many bands are choosing extended U.S. tours rather than European tours. Plus, the band can sleep at home in most cases in the U.S., see their kids and families, things like that, rather than stay in a hotel. Even with the plane costs, that brings expenses down.

Go out and read an article at billboard.com that addresses the whole European vs. U.S. touring thing -- it brings up some really salient points about costs and revenue.

Really? Reports in our press and news outlets seem to imply that the U.S. economy is actually going down faster than the European one(s)... But that the general public in the U.S. might not know or realise it yet. They're still spending happily and living on credit, even though the economy is already going down and major lay-offs and whatever might just be lurking around the corner.

IMHO, that's really the most understandable reason why the guys might not want to spend months and months away from home anymore. But even so, I can't understand why they couldn't have made the European tour even just a week or so longer -- since the European tour is in the summer, the guys can (and probably will) bring their families here at some point, so it wouldn't be like they wouldn't see them in six or seven weeks straight. And during that extra week or extra 10 days they could've easily covered both Northern and Southern Europe, at least if they would've moved some of the current dates around a bit.

Errmm As I understand it, the US Economy has been suffering for sometime & is in fact have detrimental knock on effects across the world. Hence why our economies r now starting to suffer. Courtesy of 9/11 & Enron.
That is why Bush has proposed such dramatic changes.

& really this should be about the music, not making a quick buck.

Fredrik, if I could, I would love to tell you something different... But unfortunately I think you're right being all out of faith -- according to EMA Telstar, Bon Jovi will not be coming to Scandinavia at all on the Bounce Tour. Not unless miracles start happening anyway...

And again according to EMA Telstar, it is by their own choice, not by the Scandinavian promoters' lack of effort or willingness to get them here.

Never forget that this is a *business,* Mike. And some of it could be business, and some of it could be them wanting to be closer to home to see their families.

I understand it is a business - & I absolutely understand the need for the company to maintain profit margins to ensure they maintain / increase their share price.

It just ticks me off that something like Rock N Roll should be about the business.

And what, exactly, is making the European economy go down? The United States, who is responsible for a big chunk of the World's economy. And WHY do you think the economy is in the toilet? Because of the decline in consumer spending. If Americans were "spending happily" the economy would be alot healthier, don't you think? "Major layoffs" around the corner? Hello! There have already been major layoffs, with probably more to come. We're not blind to the ailing economy, Jovian. Don't imply that we are.

I have been a BJ fan for such a long time, but I really don't like how they are proceeding with their band these days. The music ain't what it was like before (read the 90's) and it seems more about making money than pleasing their worldvide fans anymore. I know they have families, but remember that they had families in 1995/96 as well. And then they still toured properly, after that time it has only degraded.. I like their music, but I think parts of me is starting to loose that passionate feeling about Bon Jovi. Sad to say, but it's true...

Hey, keep the faith Fredrik! I know it's sometimes difficult when it seems you're not getting "enough" in return, but don't bend, don't break and don't back down!!!
