Default Always Live1

Hey all,

I've been to several Bon Jovi concerts and I've always (pardon the pun!) wanted to hear Always live. But they never seem to play it! Is there a reason for this??

I'm going to the 02 Arena....would love to hear Always on June 24th!!

They played it a few times on the Bounce tour, but on the Have A Nice Day tour when they did it they played the TLFR version.

When they do play it(which is very rare) it's usually at their indoor shows..i guess the ballads come across better indoors rather than at massive outdoor shows...

but the reason it isnt played hardely at all these days is that Jon finds it hard and straining to reach the high notes during the chorus... tis a shame but uummm i guess nothing can be done!

i also hope that he gives it a go at the O2 though..i'd love to see it live the proper version!

Even Bed Of Roses would please me to be fair...!

Also doesn't help that Jon hates the song, so I doubt he ever tries too hard to work on reaching those high notes. Sucks though cause it's a great song and one of their 2 bggest hits.

Source on that? I've never heard it before, I was always of the impression that he liked it, as he decided it was too good for the soundtrack of some shitty (and it is really really bad) movie

But yeah, it's a beast of a song to sing, I'd be happy just to see him attempt it though, even if he doesn't quite pull it off. Although, that said, from what I remember people who did see it on the Bounce tour said he did a good job with it.

I also saw them do the TLFR version at MK last year, and I actually thought that worked pretty well live, although it obviously wasn't as good as hearing the electric version ... I would so love to hear the "There ain't no luck in this loaded dice .... " bit live, that's one of my favourite bits in any song ever

I'm sure I read somewhere that Jon had damaged his voice somehow during a tour in the early 90's.

Perhaps this is the reason they never play the song properly live, just acoustic.

Yeah, Jon doesn't hate the song. He hated the movie it was initially written for, "Romeo Is Bleeding".

I'm surprised that they don't play it as a regular. It's one of their 3 biggest singles ever (sales wiese.)

I saw it live at the first BJ show I ever attended (Nashville 2003) and I thought they did a great job with it and Jon sounded great. Even though I was completely blown away by the whole show, Always was definitely a highlight of the night for me. Would love to hear it more.

That's bullshit. Jon's voice got "damaged" during the Slippery and Jersey tours and after KTF he had to change the way he sang to be able to sing at all.
