Agreed, and one of the many reasons I dislike Bed of Roses. It's all about the WRONG side of Bon Jovi (IMO), the "oooh jon is so sexy" embarrassing shit. As far as the actual music goes, it doesn't compare to Always at all. I'm not a love ballad guy, but I enjoy Always because it's such a GREAT showcase for the band's talent in ways that Bed of Roses could never be. Just watch the video from Rio if you disagree with me.

Bed of Roses (KTF version) is quite possibly my favourite ballad ever. Would be pure heaven to hear this.

But I would go just as weak at the knees if I was at a show where Always was played.

All due respect....but I disagree totally.
I think BoR is a tremendous song, and lyrically it's superior to Always IMO.
As far as the "Jon is sexy" stuff, Always gets the same kind reaction from those people. Hell every song gets the "Jon is sexy" reaction from that group, so I don't really let myself get phased by them.

The lyrics may be a matter of opinion, though you are right that Always gets the same reaction. On the same hand, Always can rise above that to me because it isn't just Jon's vocals, but Richie's amazing solo, etc. It works as so much more than just a sappy ballad. To me, Bed of Roses is just a conduit for the ass fans. But, maybe that's just a matter of opinion

And I love the give & take between Richie's guitar and Jon's voice in BoR -- and that's what they sucked out of it with TLFR. The Always solo is stunning, but there's just something about BoR for me. LOL Good thing we have both back in the original form.

I heard Bed Of Roses in 3 out of 4 concerts I went to. Only heard Always once (during the Crossroad to the East tour).

So my answer is Never Say Goodbye.
That's a good answer, too! Very creative of you. The rest of us were just following along . . .

I actually like both versions somewhat, but the CrossRoad version has this huge epic feel that the demo is missing IMO.
And the CrossRoad solo kicks ass.
Yepper. I hate the intro in the Crossroad version.

I like the solo in the Boxset version better too.

Plus, when it went up to the next key, that was awesome. I know Jon's head will probably explode if he attempts to do it live, but at least it was captured on tape and it was awesome.

Noooooo Bed of Roses is poetry.

Plus I know quite a few guys who were disappointed that no form of Bed of Roses wasn't played in Perth and I'm pretty sure they weren't all gay.

Always.
Because it's been a long time since they've performed it live and I love the lyrics.
Nearly every time I've watched it from YouTube I've almost cried. If they play it in Helsinki, which might happen, I think I'll cry! It's just so great love song.
No wonder it was so big hit. I thought Jon can't ever sing it again, but he has suprised me!
