Default Always

Hi, my mum is a big bon jovi fan and she wants me to go and see them with her in june in the UK. My favourite song is Always, and i was just wondering if they still play it live as it doesnt appear on any of the recent setlists. Is there a reason for this? Thank you.

Default Always...

Hey...

They played Always to the first Toronto show I went to on Jan.23rd : ) ...reasons why they don't play it? ...it's an absolute classic that they don't always pull out , so as to save it for special times...tough song to sing perhaps as well. Aerosmith doesn't always perform angel <--- because it's a classic, and also coz their hardcore fans are stupid and don't want them to play it...some different reasons Have A Nice Day

Yes they did so far, but the This left feels right version! And they alternate that song with Bed of roses TLFR version as well...1/2 shows that Always appears in the setlist.

I think it's pretty cool that they're doing the TLFR versions of those songs <-- representing their entire career..... by the way, anyone else lose it when they play a song from 100 million (i.e. Radio Saved My Life Tonight, or I Get A Rush)?

Simply put, it's hard for the guy to sing. There cannot be any other reason. It was their number 1 song. If he was capable of pulling it off every night, I'm sure he would.

Yeh but in all they rape 3 of their strongest ballads (inc BOR and IBTFY). Its just such a shame as they came over fantasic live even if he couldnt reach the high notes. The crowd participation, esp at the end of Il be there for you is lost on TLFR Thats gonna be the biggest disappointment for me on this tour.

Default Hey Captain Jovi

Dude,

I, as well as many audio recordings of them doing Always would disagree with you <--- I'm sick and tired of people dissing Bon Jovi on a friggen Bon Jovi message board <-- especially when it's not a good argument. Especially on this tour, he's doing a fantastic job... but of course, his own damn fans would never admit that. It makes me sick. Have A Nice Day

Anthony

PS- as I said,, someone like Steven Tyler who no one ever dises for his vocal prowess , and rightfully so, rarely sings "Angel" <-- a really tough song to sing...because he can't? I doubt that...when they do, it's amazing <-- they save it for special occasions.

Just FYI - Captain_jovi is one of the posters here that is positive and supportive of the band. You're attacking the wrong guy. He is stating facts - Jon has also said that the high notes on Always are killers. He is doing a fantastic job on this tour but he is not singing many of the songs in the same key or in the same way that he used to. And that's one of the reasons he sounds so good on this tour. Last tour he was straining to hit all the high notes. Listen to Always from the Allbany 2003 show if you have a bootleg. I was at the show and it made me cringe when he sang flat and couldn't hit the notes. And yes I'm a fan and have been one for a long time.

Difference between "Angel" and "Always" is that Aerosmith doesn't play "Angel" at all or very rarely, Bon Jovi plays "Always" relatively regularily just a different version of it. Hence why you can't compare the two.

.
Actually if you read most of the reviews from the tour so far you'll find they have been very positive. Its only when the subject of TLFR comes up many of the comments have been the same, ie the crowd arnt into it, they arnt going down welll. Ok iv set to see a show from this tour yet so I will go with an open mind but its not good when 3 of thier biggest hits arnt sung in the orignal versions.
