Default Always

Probably my biggest disappointment setlist-wise on this last US leg was no Always. Actually, I don't think the setlists for this leg would have been THAT different even with Richie there. But I do think they would have played Dry County or Always every other night, and on some nights, both. We got a couple nice airings of Dry County, but no Always. A shame because I thought he sounded fantastic by the end of the leg.

There was no Richie. I'm surprised they played Dry County.

But look what he did to the solo of Dry County. It made it so much less difficult to play.

From what I've gathered about Phil X's capabilities, the solo from Always should be a breeze for him. He's good enough to where he could make his own outro solo and have it sound great. I think the absence of Always is about Jon's voice, like choclady said.

I'll bet they play it several times in Europe.

Right now, Phil X is a better guitar player than Richie Sambora. More creative, inspired and looks like he genuinely is having a fun time on stage. Just watch his Keep The Faith solo. OR any of his side stuff he has done outside of Bon Jovi.
