then he should have no difficulty in Always then. Dry county is a longer solo to play combining all the parts including outro...Always is shorter and has similar playing styles (scales, bends ect.) to dry county.

Here's a video of the first time the played original Always in a long time - Iowa 2008. I still think the 08 vocal performances were better than any in the years since. Although Richie is a bit all over the place at times here.

Why do people think Jon has a problem with Always vocally?

He has sung it so many times in the last 3 years... why would he stop now.

1. Judging by how much Always has shown up the previous legs of this tour (semi-regular) I have no doubt it would have been played several times had Richie been here.

2. I think it's less the solo, and more the outro that kept them from doing it. Not that Phil couldn't do it per say, but the outro is very Sambora. Also, it allowed Jon to be lazy.

The best Always of this tour (best outro solo at least, which makes the song for me). Sounds a lot better when he plays it with the Les Paul instead of the 335, which he uses on it far too often for my liking

I think the MSG 3 outro tops all on this tour TBH.

Is it the one here or? I think this one is pretty messy and not so good.

A shame because I thought he sounded fantastic by the end of the leg.
Agree. I saw 2 May shows, 1 with you Jay, and had a blast. However looking back, I still say JBJ shoulda posteponed. X sounded great, esp to the average 'happy to be there fan', however the May setlist catalog was so limited. JBJ did best he could to make the crowd go home happy, which they did. It's us, the diehards, who missed the 'Richie factor' the most.

If you look at other setlists from Southern America, ALL setlists are bland. It would've been the same with Richie or no Richie.

Biased opinion right there. I see it as an average performance to be honest.
