What happened in Groten, CT (whatever that is!)

Obviously it's hard to compare Bon Jovi to a live musical titan like Train. Every Train show is basically Queen at Live Aid.

Damn. Quite radical!

But don't be fooled.. I go to quite a bit of metal shows in the States and believe me - there is no seating, all general admission and it's usually pretty lively

They had a show there and, I believe, there was a fan club trip involved as well. It was general admission and there were people pushing and shoving and some people got hurt/trampled. It's been 20 years so I'm fuzzy on the details, but it made the news. It was bad PR for the band and for general admission shows.

Maybe one of the other longtime fans was there and could fill in the details.

I can tell you about the Little Rock show. It was general admission in Arkansas in July. This means it was hotter than seven hells in the venue. The security guards weren't worth a damn. People were passing out from the heat and getting pushed and pulled. Jon stopped the show and cussed out the security guards. First, he asked everyone to take a step backward to help alleviate the shoving. He told the security guards in no uncertain terms that they were to start spraying water into the crowd since people were passing out and that if he threw a pick out it was for the kids and "not their ****ing souvenir." He *really* lit into them. I wish that rant had been recorded, but I know of no recording of that show. My parents were in the audience and I was *sure* they would never let me go see Bon Jovi again because of the language Jon had used, but they had the exact opposite reaction. They said they were proud of him for standing up for his fans.

He did the same thing in Argentina, adding "I ain't going anywhere". It seems that, as you say, he don't like the GA shows and gets a little nervous when this things start happening.

If it isn't anything to do with arena seating then i dont know why American shows are so quiet. Its baffling. They were loud enough around the pool and hotel resort in Mexico last year....

Have you ever shared that story here before? I'm surprise if you haven't. That's a good one to share!

I was not at the Groton, CT show but my best friend was there. It was a fanclub trip and she'd saved and saved for it, lol! She was nearly crushed being up front, it was not a good experience for her at all.
