Any suggestions for a first timer :)

Hey Everybody,
Hows it going? Great here. A couple months ago, I talked my parents into letting me (and of coarse the family) to go to a Bon Jovi concert after a year of trying. Well, I ended up paying for the tickets (totally worth it and we're all going) but by the time I finally got them there were only 25 seats left. I'm going to be up on the balcony right smack in the middle. Has anyone ever had seats up there, is it so bad? Since this is my first concert and in a totally different state, I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions like maybe how early to arrive to when the show starts or what to bring or not to bring anything else I have'nt thought of, or maybe even prices of the stuff in the concessions. Everything in the concessions will be expensive!

As far as what to take--most places allow cameras now, so if you want to take one, it should be okay. I always stick a plastic shopping bag in my purse to put my Jovi-purchases in. That way if some moron spills beer on the floor, my stuff won't get soaked. You don't want to take too much stuff because it will just be a hassle to get through security.

im a first timer too! im going to the hyde park concert - whats it like there? ive never been there! do the guys shake hands with ppl afterwards? r u allowed cameras there?

Slippery, I guess shaking hands with a few hundred thousand people is quite difficult for the band and they never ever could hold an intrument afterwards LOL.

In most venues small cameras without a zoom are tolerated even though originally cameras aren't allowed at all. You always take the risk that they take it away from you. So it's up to you if you want to take the risk. Until now I never had problems to get a camera in but it can always happen that they take it away from you.

I'm going with my mom (her fave band is Bon Jovi too, which i didn't know and was a shock when i told her mine was Bon Jovi --) and sister, and my friend wants me to take pictures for her, but i was told that i couldn't take a camera. My sister (who has had a hell of a lot more experience w/concerts then i have) said they're taken away from you at security. But i'm going to try since you guys say it may just be possible.

Different venues have different rules regarding cameras. I called last time to check what was allowed and what wasn't. That's the best way to find out what they'll let you take inside to avoid having anything confiscated.

If you want to be on the safe side so you won't loose your own camera is to buy one of those one-time cameras only. Not the best of quality, but it's better to loose one of those than your own.

I'm a first-timer, too! Heck, It's my first concert EVER! I have a question, too. Do they sell t-shirts and stuff at concerts? Are the prices reasonable or totally rediculous?

Yup, they sell t-shirts and stuff at the concerts. Prices aren't too outrageous usually. T-shirts are $20-30, tour books usually around $15. $50 should probably take care of it. Depends on how much you want to buy. I could be way off on these prices though. Tickets were almost double the price of what they were on the OWN tour, so souvenirs may be more too.

P.S. What a great concert to have as your first one ever!!!!!!!

I think some of the T-shirts were going for $45 each last time. I spent closer to $200 and really didn't have a lot of different items.
