The best live shows I´ve seen was a band from New Jersey - but not Bon Jovi. Bruce Springsteen is my number one here. And I love the small club shows of Southside Johnny - high energy and lot of fun. Jon copied a lot from Bruce and Johnny.

Bon Jovi is one of the best - but not the best.

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band!!!
It's not just a concert, it's a 3 hour service to rock 'n' roll.

I don't know if that's true i read it somewhere on the net, but you're complaining about 1.5 hour, somewhere I read that the giants stadium wait till midnight back in the "the river"-tour and get a show till 4 but like I said don't know if it's true.

And sorry: Is it really that bad that you don't get any alcohol? I'm sorry but if that's such a drama for you...well sounds kinda poor.

I'm not anti-alcohol, but I enjoy concerts more when it's not being served. It just makes people aggressive and annoying. It never fails that there will be guys in their mid-20's somewhere near me who are spraying beer in the air and getting it on everyone. Or dingbats like the two on the my row in Foxboro who kept asking people to move so they could go in and out of their seats on beer runs. I had an aisle seat and finally said, "Look, how about you two take our seats so you won't have to keep going in and out?" I also find it to be stupid for venues to sell so much beer and then turn 20,000 to 80,000 people out on the streets. Traffic is bad enough from concerts without adding drunks to the mix. But, you know, it's all in the name of the all mighty dollar.

I have to say I dont see the point of people paying £50 for a ticket then getting totally smashed before the main band even come on stage. Never really felt the need to have a drink at any concert, Beer and crowds do not mix for me at all, I know id end up missing half the show.

Totally agree. Sometimes I'll have one or two beers, but that is it. I think it would be a waste anyway.. you pay so much money and then you're going to the toilet every 10 minutes!

Thanks for all your positive response!!!
Usually when you say something against alcohol these days you have to be very strong because you're gonna be bashed like the worst thing on earth.

Really nice people round here

i think there is a difference between drinking beer at a concert and getting drunk. same holds true for driving. just because a venue sells alcohol, does not mean people drive drunk - otherwise you should ban all alcohol in restaurants and pubs. especially in the us, I think young people (particularly the 20s crowd) has a definite lack of ability to handle alcohol responsibly which really is a shame. hence the restricitions of NOT allowing alcohol in the seating/concert area -- thought this seems to be a state thing, maybe as becky's experience suggests.

and i won't even bother to respond to the snide comment about my complaint with the venue at the springsteen concert, cause it was completely blown out of proportion...
