It's not that we want to see a ton of stuff from the 80's albums - I love the fact that they are playing 6-7 from What About Now, that's good, it's fresh and the songs sound good.

It's that the songs around them, once you take the staple 8-10 out are poor choices.

Whole Lotta Leavin????
Captain Crash???
WwwB????
Even Saturday Night shouldn't be in set if WSYCGH & Crash are.

It would only take the addition of :

Dry County
Something to Believe In rotating with Hey God
And maybe a.n. other surprise like I Am rotating with I Believe

And to a person we would shut the hell up!!!!

We are such an easy fix - 3-4 'die hard' songs in a set of 25ish songs. Jon's an idiot if he can't see that.

Obviously the balance is a bit different now with more records out but still, the basic thoughts of how albums should be represented is quite similar to yours. There's only a few things I'd change in regards to what I said back then and that's how you build up your set.

That said, I didn't know you were such a big fan of Everyday.

Salaam Aleikum,

Ah dammit, well its short enough for a reprise! Ive swapped it out for the These Days song I was missing, but I remember what you said there (and continue to do) and agree with it- its as Ive said but going in a lot more detail. I just tried sticking to vaguely well known and performed songs that realistically they could do with not much change on the most part, and tried to structure it vaguely how they have been doing it, but if I had my way it would probably look quite different. They should let us have a bash at a setlist!

I absolutely think they should have around 6 new songs in there- as a casual Id listen to the greatest hits plus the new album if Im going to a gig and haven't already, so anyone doing that here would be more than catered for too.

Set lists are unimaginative at this early juncture (is that to do with 'American' crowds?), song placings within the setlists are odd and song choices are odd. The energy & enthusiasm for the live arena also seems to have gone.

The band are at a total crossroads with their live gigs (pun intended).

I think they have to sit down and honestly work out who they want to play for. Are they playing for the fans, the casuals or themselves?

They don't seem that enthused so I don't think they are playing for themselves anymore. They don't seem to have the courage to say that they just don't want to play certain songs anymore. Surely Jon in his heart of hearts never wants to sing 'bad medicine' ever again!!??

They aren't playing for the fans because we could list a ton of songs that we know would go down a storm with the repeat attendees / die hard fans & they aren't being played.

And so we come back to the conclusion that Jon first aired in the WWWB documentary that they are playing to the casuals. But I'm not even sure they are - do the casuals want to hear 4 songs from Lost Highway????

Live : the band are in a mess.

I wish Jon had the courage of his convictions to do a Springsteen and open up the whole of his back catalogue for inclusion live. Springsteen very much takes the stance of 'well, if you don't know the song, that's your look out'. Often with an unfamiliar song the strength of a band performance can carry it off anyway.

They need to tour with all bets off aside from the inclusion of 6-7 new songs and the core unit of :

Bad Name
Prayer
Wanted
Keep the Faith
It's My Life
Have a Nice Day

That's a recognisable hit one in every 4 songs.

Stick :

Always
I'll be there For You (or Bed of Roses)
In These Arms
Bad Medicine

In and that's 10 songs out of 25. Add 6-7 new ones and thats 17 songs leaving 8 for the die hards. 8 : Not Lost Highway songs but interesting stuff that would excite long time followers of the band heres my 8 :
Only Lonely
Wild is the Wind
Dry County
Something to Believe in
Hey God
One Wild Night or Bounce
I Am
Loves the Only Rule

Surely that's not too much to ask? And its enough for the casuals - a lazy greatest hit song ever 2-3 songs but also leaves enough space for the more die hard fan.

If I am going to a gig of a band that I only own a greatest hits package for I wouldn't expect to know every song that comes along, why does Jon pander to that fan?

I just don't think the band are happy anymore. When I saw Richie in London last October he played with more fire & enthusiasm than I've seen in years because it was new, different etc.
Its their own fault, they should be more selfish and play stuff THEY want to play, let the performances carry them through.
Very good and interesting opinions but the truth is that nobody who has any affect to the band will ever read this....

Do you think it would make a difference if most of the members of drycounty sent the same message to bonjovi.com and demand the band to play for the fans and so on...?

I think that we would get a "**** off" as much. People complained to Obie about the flat music, they got a "we don't care about what you think", people complained to John Shanks about the production, they got insults, people complained to Matt about the new tracks, they got a "this isn't 1980 anymore, this are great stadium anthems" (lolwaw). I don't think they do care about what we think.

I was just wondering, imagine if every ticket came with a number, like a serial key of a game, you go to bonjovi.com, put the serial key and can vote for 15 songs of all the discography. Something like "build your own concert". Yeah, we'd end up with only greatest hits songs maybe but who knows.

Even if the message gets deleted, I still think voicing your complaints, improvement ideas, etc on the Fb page, the app, bonjovi.com is not a bad idea. They may deleted every comment but I think something will be conveyed. Can't hurt.

Yeah, this. I feel like if it gets deleted on Facebook it means it's been read. Considering how a lot was deleted on the day the show in Uncasville was to take place I'm quite sure they took note. They refuse to understand that deleting things won't help, because it's essentially a reply from their side.

.. by a community manager that maybe didn't ever had contact with Jon or the band.

But as you all said, we got nothing to lose for trying.
