It's very odd.
It's because AEG have to make up their loss on Michael Jackson ánd have to pay Bon Jovi, hence the prices for some sections being 1,5 to 2 to 2,5 times higher than the tickets for Michael Jackson.

So based on that, it's really not entirely Bon Jovi's fault. Sounds like AEG is the real culprit here.

Thats the thing that i've noticed, is how reasonable the US prices are in comparison

The 2 arena shows on ticketmaster USA are between $31 and $130 dollars, approx £20 to £80!!

There's more to this than just Bon Jovi trying to make a lot of money. It's AEG. I think Jon's hands were somewhat tied to an extent. They have a partnership with AEG, and I'm sure they were tied into for this tour with AEG before Jacko died and before ticket prices were set.

The choice is probably, play it at those prices, or don't play it at all.

It just doesn't make sense that they would charge so much for London, and literally, half the price for every other show. This has corporate BS written all over it. I'm sure Jon could back out, but would probably face lawsuits up the ying-yang.

True. It will interesting to see what the prices will be like for other european dates/stadiums in 2011

Not true. Jon can say no. Jon can tell AEG where he wants to play, how much money he wants to make, and can tell AEG that it's either that or he won't play there, and AEG can't make money on them. AEG need Jon harder than Jon needs AEG.

There's also no way this was planned before Jackson died. Ever since Jackson has died AEG has tried to get other artists to fill the void Jackson left.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

I get that you guys are pissed, and I would be too. But seriously, don't hold Jon completely to blame for this. I would bet all my concert tickets, this is all AEG.

And it looks like the dollar/pound/euro signs were flashing in Jon's eyes and he said yes

Dan, it just isn't. It really isn't. It's both, but AEG offered something and instead of saying "I'm not going to ask this from my fans" Jon said "Yeah sure, if it makes me that much money I'll take it."

It's not that simple. You don't get into a long term huge business relationship like this with one side having all the power. How do we know that AEG and Bon Jovi don't have a long term deal set a couple years back? It's no different than a record contract in that respect. Either you deliver the albums promised in the contract, or you are in breach of contract.

Again, I feel for you guys, but what makes you think Jon is singling you out and no one else? It makes no sense.
