It is not all AEG , im not saying its all Jon but no one can make him do anything he doesn't want to do.

Based on your argument if we accepted that as fact.
Jon agrees to do 5 shows at the 02 , its now at 14 ?
I dont suppose he agreed to that either then?

I don't know. If that's the case, I'm real disappointed in Jon. I get that touring is an expensive undertaking, but it is ridiculous.

All I'm saying is, I think there may be more here than meets the eye. Obviously, Jon can't come out and say "It's not my fault - Blame AEG."

Is it at 14 now? Jesus.

The whole thing is completely bizarre. If anything, you'd think they'd charge this for Giants.

Either you deliver the albums promised in the contract, or you are in breach of contract.

Again, I feel for you guys, but what makes you think Jon is singling you out and no one else? It makes no sense.
Because this is a deal that was made to make up for someone elses cancelled gigs. Here's how it works;

The O2 Arena was in financial trouble, it was before Bon Jovi re-opened the venue and after Bon Jovi opened it, it still was. Then there was AEG offering the O2 Arena an offer they just couldn't refuse. 50 shows, meaning the venue would be booked for a whole year.

AEG promised the O2 and all the other organisations involved (merchandising, catering, etc) 50 shows of work. Now that the 50 shows had been cancelled AEG needed not only to make up to the O2, but also to everyone else involved. Hence, they needed a big act to make up for it. Many artists had been mentioned, Whitney Houston, Robbie Williams, Stereophonics, Mariah Carey and Bon Jovi.

AEG offered Jon the chance to do the O2 Arena, but Jon doesn't play a venue if he doesn't get an X-amount of money for it. AEG then promised Jon his x-amount of money for every show he'd do, and showed Jon the financial picture. Remember, Jon is the CEO, he sees these sort of things before they go on sale. And instead of saying "I'm not doing that, I can't do that to my audience" he said "go ahead" because for every ticket sold an artist gets a certain percentage (I believe it's 10%, but I'm not sure).

This is how it works. This deal has not been made years ago or the O2 Arena would not have been in financial trouble. When Bon Jovi ticket prices were 75BP when they opened the venue in 2007 they could've asked the same. But because AEG need to make up their loss on Michael Jackson's shows they ask a lot, lot more. And Jon agreed to do so.

Had Jon not been the CEO it'd have been a different story, but the fact that Jon has not responded to the massive critisism on pretty much every board makes it obvious that he was very well aware of it all.

According to his beloved brother Matt Bongiovi that's what Jon said. He didn't know about it, and AEG was to blame. Not him, because he'd never do that.

That's Jon for you.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

I blame Michael Jackson-none of this would be happening if AEG didnt bully him into agreeing on 50 dates.
