You can afford to go. You just can't afford to sit up close.

It's like me saying "I can't go on vacation because I can't afford it." I can afford to go on vacation. I just can't afford to stay at a 5 star hotel. I'll still go on vacation.

For what it's worth, U2 are playing the new Giants Stadium next July. The same tickets for Bon Jovi that are $150, U2 is charging $253.

This is true. I can afford to go once or twice and sit at the back with a load of casual fans who couldnt give a shite who only know iml and prayer and who will talk all over a decent song like i believe and ruin my experience.

I've had front row seats, and I've had crap seats. I make the most out of wherever I sit. Don't worry about what others are doing.

i dont worry about what anyone else is doing. I think we just got used to being in stadiums in europe and being able to hang around with your mates all day long inside and outside. I will make the most out of where i sit. I have been in the second or third row before and moved to the back of the pit because it got too cramped but i was still with my friends because we all moved together. Its not about front row as ive said before its the experience as a whole.

I've experienced Jovi shows from the GC, GA and seated in the stands and I have to say, after the one time I found myself in the seated section at Hampden in 2006, I would NEVER do it again!

There is absolutely zero atmosphere and the most 'into it' the crowd gets early on is a polite few seconds of applause at the end of a song. The easy trip to the bar and getting back to your seat afterwards is yet another reason not to sit in the stands as people just drink till they drop and I was just about ready to punch the loud-mouthed yob who was singing so loudly for the last hour of the show in 2006. I'm not exaggerating one bit when I say I couldn't hear the band over the drunken, tuneless bellowing in my right ear... he couldn't even get the f*ckin' words right!!

I vowed never again after that and have gone GC each time since.

My point is though, where you sit does impact on the enjoyment of the show. In 2007, most people who got tickets were massive fans because it was a one-off promo event and (most importantly) reasonably priced in comparison to next year's residency. You could have sat anywhere in the arena in 2007 and you would have been surrounded by nutty Jovi fans dancing and jumping around. I somehow don't think that atmosphere will be replicated next year and furthermore, to go on a 1000 mile round-trip to sit in the sections I can afford, I'd sooner not bother, especially since they will be back in 2011.

Very well made point indeed. The things youve mentioned do concern me. I took my mum to see lionel richie the only tickets left were near the back. What did we get ? 5 drunken idiots behind us "singing" over lionel all night. In the end my mum was so mad she demanded the arena move us to other seats.
A similar thing could happen with the seats i have at the 02. Im glad im going to Paris

Quit your damn bitching. You sound like a little girl. Christ, it's a damn concert. There are people in the world who have to worry about how they're going to feed their kids, or pay for their mortgage, or who have no health insurance.

Get over it.
