Default Ashamed...All Michiganians should be...

Last night, my Fiancee' and I drove 2 1/2 hours one way to witness what we thought would be, the concert of a lifetime. Mind you, we purchased tickets at $85 a piece plus taxes and all the other bull s*@t charges that normally come with a concert ticket. Now, my Fiancee' and I are getting married January 14th, 2006 and although it is a Winter Themed Wedding, the wedding song we chose is, "You Had Me From Hello" by Bon Jovi, and the reception music was going to be mostly Bon Jovi music because we could relate to so much of the music and we both love it, especially the best yet most underated album Bon Jovi put out, "These Days". I myself saw Bon Jovi in 85 and in 89 but last night, at Soaring Eagle Casino was thee most disappointing concert I had ever been to. My Fiancee' whom has waited for this concert and to see her favorite performers, was in tears afterwards, the disappointment in her voice was too much for me to bear. We had just seen Def Leppard and Bryan Adams together in Lansing for a measley $45 a piece and it was one of the best concerts I had been to in 20+ years!! Jon walked around the stage like he had weights tied to his feet. He was non-energetic, he was clearly set on doing the bare minimum to put on a short show, shake his rear, and get the hell out of Mount Pleasant. In other words, this was a true rip off by one of the biggest artists today. His true colors came out, Jon doesn't know how to connect with his audience. He used his star power and rear, to his advantage and no one elses!! The setlist was horrible! The vocals were horrible! Not one song was played from These Days or 7800 degrees Farenheit!!! Not one!! I must admit, Richie Sambora was his true self. If it wasn't for Richie, the concert would have been a total FLOP!!! Richie gave fans what they wanted the best he could BUT, us Michiganians came to see BON JOVI as a whole band, not to watch Jon strut his rear or his egotistical bullcrap star power. I would have to think long and hard before I went to another BJ concert and that is a fact! Sammy Hagar said it best when he played at DTE theater on Aug. 8th, todays stars are ripping people off with high ticket prices. Sammy promoted a show at DTE with ticket prices at prices unheard of, a measley $10 a ticket. I have personally seen Sammy and his shows are totally energetic AND he knows how to connect with his audiences. Joe Elliott of Def Leppard is older than Jon Bon Jovi AND he put on one hell of a show in Lansing like he was still in his twenties. I am ashamed to say I went to this Bon Jovi concert and the rest of the Michiganians that went should feel the same. $100 a ticket and Jon was 45 minutes late coming on stage and to play for a measley 1 1/4 hours, what a joke! The least, and I mean the least Jon could do, although I know it will never happen, is come back to Michigan, and anyone that purchased tickets to Soaring Eagle Casino should get in to a free show, with more energy and emphasis on fan connection, afterall Jon, You wouldn't be here today if it weren't for your fans. I hope you slept well that night, cause my fiancee' and I sure the hell didn't. I believe we will be making changes to our song list for our reception. Have A Nice F*@kin Day Jon!

A Red Rocker fan!

Are you kidding??? Were you there?? How long have you been going to concerts??? Like I said, This was by far, the worst concert I had ever, and I mean EVER been to!!! I been going to concerts since 77 and This was thee most disappointing one AND it was the ONE concert I was looking forward to the most because of my fiancee' AND the fact our wedding and reception was based around the music of Bon Jovi! Jon is obviously a business man with his arean football team and so forth and not into giving fans their moneys worth. He made at least 1/4 million off that show at Soaring Eagle Casino and still was listless as a performer!

Sorry you had a bad time mate, I know I'd be pissed too if it was as bad as you said but I think it's important to realise that that description is by no means the norm for this band. I heard Jon was having major problems with the sound and who knows what else might have been going on behind the scenes. It certainly dosen't excuse a shoddy and short performance for the money you paid but just keep in mind that Jon is human and this is by no means the norm, not even close.

Keep the faith .

Oh, the reason they came on late was Richies fault, not Jon's. So I heard.

Yeah, I read that too--Richie didn't get to the venue until 8:10 and they were supposed to go on at 8:00. They didn't start until 8:30. So, that probably explains a 16 song set list too. Soaring Eagle is a casino. They definitely would have a curfew and the band would have to be off stage by a certain time.

A 16 song setlist can still be great.

I would feel sorry for you, but you chose "You had Me From hello" as your wedding song. Sounds like a bad show. An hour and 20 minutes is bull!@#$ when you are the only performer of the night. At least they didn't do Bad Rx/ Shout again.
