Bon Jovi To Rock Wembley In 2011

US Rockers Bon Jovi will be returning to Wembley Stadium in June 2011, it has been announced.

The band will be in the UK to support their latest album 'The Circle' in July next year. They're currently touring in the US and are scheduled to do a residency at London's O2 Arena this summer.

Bon Jovi were the last musical act to play at the old Wembley before it was closed in October 2000, and they were scheduled to be the first band to play at the new Wembley Stadium, with concerts planned for June 2006. However, due to the delays in the construction of the new stadium, the concerts were moved to the National Bowl in Milton Keynes and singer George Michael had the honor of opening the venue the following year.

"We're honored to have the band returning to the new stadium next year," AEG's Randy Phillips said after the show in Washington DC. "Bon Jovi are one of the biggest bands in the world, and I'm sure fans will jump at the chance of seeing them perform at one of the world's most famous venue."

On the subject of the O2 residency taking place this summer, Phillips added; "London is a very unique place. Remember, we had Prince here doing 21 shows. Britney's done 8 shows. It's a very very unusual city for multiple concerts."

The Band, who have sold over 120 million albums and performed more than 2,600 concerts in over 50 countries, are scheduled to release a statement announcing the European Leg of 'The Circle' Tour, with tickets due to go on sale Monday.
