First of all I was a nervous wreck all day. I was so nervous and worried that something would go wrong and that I wouldn't make it to Philips.
But we made it there, 20mins before they opened the doors. We took the Marta Train, so we didn't have to worry about traffic or parking. Which was cool.

We had to go through security, with our purses being checked and stuff. I have to say that I think I embarassed the poor guy, because when he was checking my purse, he saw my tampons. He stopped right there. He was like "Okay, you're good." lol
Anyhow, after the doors opened Jerri and I found the the merchandise stand, and that was a mad house. There was no real line, and it seemed like it took forever. But actually it didn't take too long. I bought the black tee shirt with the foil Bounce logo on front, a program, one glow stick and two binoculars
We then went and found our seats, and let me tell you I was freaking. I couldn't believe how close I was to the stage. This was as close as I have ever been to Bon Jovi. I was in section 117, row V. I'm not good with distances, but I would say that we were probably anywhere between 40-
50 feet from the stage. Maybe 60. I do know that we were only 22 rows from the cat-walk.
I was impressed with the Goo-Goo Dolls. I've always like their music, but this was the first time seeing them live. And being that they were a great band live, I felt bad that the place was 1/2 empty. Anyhow, I would like to see them again. I took a few pics with my disposable camera.
Finally, it was time for Bon Jovi. The crowd started to scream once they turned the lights down. I think I embarassed my friend, Jerri, because I started screaming. I was so excited. Words can not even begin to describe how excited I was when the curtains dropped revealing the stage and the guys.
I loved the stage set up with the satellite dishes, and how they had the techs (well at least Richie's tech) dressed like someone out of Star Wars. That was pretty cool.
I took some pictures but in my excitement, I dropped the camera in the beer belonging to the guy next to me. (sorry dude) And wouldn't you know it, Jon walks up the cat-walk not long after that. There was my idol, only 22 rows away from, a perfect picture waiting to happen. And my camera was ruined. Lucky is was only a disposable one.
I won't go into the set list much, since just about everyone knows it, but I liked the fact that they played several from Slippery. My friend Jerri, likes Bon Jovi, but doesn't know many of their songs, so she was lost during several. Like
Wild in the Streets, she was like is this one new? They played
Runaway, which was the song that my best friend, Jeanne, wanted to hear when she went with me to the OWN concert.
I knew all the songs, and I sang along with all of them. Jerri complained about having trouble hearing the band over the crowd. She said that the other concerts she went to, (Rush and Pink Floyd) she could hear the band. Of course she probably was just meaning she couldn't hear the band over me, but didn't want to hurt my feelings.
I loved hearing Richie sing
I'll be there for you. He has such a beautiful, passionate voice. And I have to admit that
Right side of wrong isn't one of my favorties on the CD, but I was amazed (again) by Dave's playing. Funny note. Jerri was complaining about having to stand, (even though I warned her, when I asked if she wanted to go, that NOBODY sits at a Bon Jovi concert) so when she was happy when we got to sit down. When Bon Jovi kicked into the next song, she said out loud, "You mean we have to stand up again?" She said that right when things got quiet. I still chuckle at the thought of what if Jon or Richie heard that.
Another amusing thing that happened was during
Raise your hands, Jon was walking around, encourageing everyone to raise their hands. Well Jerri didn't. Not until, I believe Richie saw her standing there, with her arms folded and held his arms up. THEN she put her arms up in the air!!!
Anyhow the concert was over way too soon. I notice that Jon didn't talk as much as he usually does. But he still made some funny comments. I never in my life had wanted to go to Nashville ever like I did Thursday night after we left the concert. I didn't want it to be over. It was like Christmas, you get excited and nervous waiting for Christmas to come, have a blast during, and then you are sad when it's over. It's gonna to be a looong wait till I can see Bon Jovi again. I
wish upon wish that they would come to Columbus, Ga. Or at least come to Atlanta again really soon.
Anyhow that was my review of the night.
