Looks like they are doing the same thing as last time with the local support act competition

http://www.mix.com.au/music/bon-jovi-support-band

I still hope there is an international act as well, OR an already well established aussie act.

I don't get the excitement over support acts.
One thing I really loved about seeing Bon Jovi in Tokyo was no support act, just straight into it
I actually feel a little bit sad for them, knowing that all those people are not there to hear you and wish you would hurry up and finish so the main act can start.

A good support act can set the mood nicely and get people swaying before the main one comes on, of course the opposite can also happen with a bad support act.

Some of the best performances I've ever seen have been support acts.... and I've seen a lot of performances.

FFS, we'll end up with some shitty band that can't play its instruments and they'll bore the entire crowd. Screw that.

I would be surprised if there wasn't a well known support act as well, be it international or local. Just hope it is someone decent, I don't want too sit through 45 minutes of shite.

Yeah the support acts who won competitions for the LH tour were all very forgettable.

Cant they at least enlist a band with a record contract?

The only good BJ support act I ever came across was Goo Goo Dolls in 2003 - they saved the show (because it was for the BBBBBBoring album).

Crossroad tour, local act, worst band ever.
OWN tour, Eve 6, awful.
HAND tour, local act, not good.

Those guys who opened for Jovi in Melbourne in 2001 were shocking. Not Primary, they weren't too bad, the others. Greenspoon.... something like that? What a load of crap. Wish Invertigo had opened for them then, I was really into them. BTW, are they still around?
