American rockers Bon Jovi will play the Bowl on January 19, in their first Australian tour since 2002.

Tickets go on sale November 9.

Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora promised the show -- the band's only date in Melbourne -- would mix the group's biggest hits including Livin' on a Prayer, Bad Medicine, It's My Life and Always with the Nashville-tinged tunes from their latest album, Lost Highway.

"We've rehearsed 73 songs," Sambora said. "The set list will change every night."

No support act has been announced; however, the band are hand-picking openers for their world tour.
