Unless you have friends who will save your space and aren't going on the tour, you will more than likely lose front row. As you say you've waited 20 years for this so I'd be looking forward to the tour rather than front row Wherever you are in DC you get a good spot and from what I have read, unless you're 7ft, front row in DC is not the best view
