Question Backing Musicians on tour?

any of you guys who've seen jovi live lately, what do you think of the extra guys on stage?
does it improve the sound?
or are they a bit of a distraction?

I'm not gonna see them till they come over to europe and was just wondering?

It's been said they make Hugh, look like a party animal!!
I really couldn't say they if they improve the sound or not but I sure as hell wouldn't call 2 guys that barely look alive when playing a distraction.

I thought they added to the sound. It rounds out some of the songs nicely. Its not like they add "killer guitar solos" into the show but they both are a good addition.

It's one thing to have an extra guitarist up there. A lot of one-guitarist bands do this. But heck, BJ has NEVER done this before....so why now? In the past, if a 2nd guitar was needed, Jon played. Now they have added ANOTHER guitarist AND another keyboard player? Weird. I don't like it.

And not only that but Richie even throws a bone to the other guitarist and let's him play a solo during the show? I don't go to a BJ show to watch anyone but RICHIE play a guitar solo.

I know people around here are going to start hating me for the things I've been saying about BJ on this forum but please understand - I AM a fan. I'm just starting to become disappointed in them. Sorry.

This statement really doesn't make you any different from a lot of people around here.

dude, no one hates anyone here over their opinion

if I don't like you it's because you called me a pea brain, not because of how you feel about Bon Jovi

Just so you are aware, Bobby only solos during Treat Her Right and that song is not in the set list every night. These two guys really are in the shadows, they take nothing away from the other 5.

I think I was in a bad mood. I'll apologize for that one. Let's start over.

I don't know. I heard from a friend and fellow fan that went to the Denver show a few weeks ago that the guy played the solo to a hit song - I think it was either Bad Medicine or Bad Name, can't recall which. My friend - a guitarist himself - was rather angry.

My friend also told me that Richie's vocals (background and harmonies) were not near the presentation they had been in the past 15 years plus. He didn't sing nearly as much as one would expect. I guess it's possible he was sick or sore or something.
